Yongzhou 6-Day Tour Day 5 & 6: Ningyuan Jiuyi Mountain.
Jiuyi Mountain, also known as Cangwu Mountain, is named after its nine peaks. It is said that Emperor Shun died here during his southern tour and was buried in front of the mountain. Jiuyi Mountain is located in Jiuyi Mountain Yao Township, Ningyuan County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. The scenic area includes attractions such as Emperor Shun Mausoleum, Shunyuan Peak, Zixia Cave, Yongfu Temple, and Emperor Shun Temple Archaeological Site Park.
🌟Highlights:
Emperor Shun Mausoleum is the mausoleum of Emperor Shun, the ancestor of the Chinese nation in ancient China. Emperor Shun Mausoleum is the oldest mausoleum in China with records. The earliest Emperor Shun Mausoleum was built in the Xia Dynasty. The current Emperor Shun Mausoleum was restored based on the Ming and Qing Dynasties and is a Ming and Qing style building. Emperor Shun Mausoleum is built according to the mountain and is known as the "First Holy Mausoleum of China". There are cultural landscapes such as the Nine Dragon Pillar, Mao Zedong's Poem Monument, Sacrifice Wall, Relief of Famous People in Jiuyi, Mingde Archway, Jingshui Bridge, and Divine Road in the mausoleum.
Zixia Cave: Originally named "Chonghua Cave", the cave is filled with purple clouds, like a fairyland, and is the "first of the twelve famous caves in southern Chu". Zixia Cave is a large underground karst cave with a developed tour of 1500 meters. There is a rock several feet high at the entrance of the cave. Under the oblique sunlight, it becomes purple and misty, hence the name Zixia Cave.
Shunyuan Peak: It is the main peak of Jiuyi Mountain, with an altitude of 610 meters. It is located in the middle. Among the nine peaks of Jiuyi Mountain, Shunyuan Peak is the highest. The other peaks are like stars holding the moon, surrounded by Shunyuan. Climbing to the top of the peak, looking far away, people feel "the rivers and mountains of thousands of miles face Jiuyi".
Xia Guan Ancient Village: A national historical and cultural village, it was opened in the Western Han Dynasty (that is, the first year of AD), and has a history of more than 2000 years. Xiaguan Village is a general term, which actually includes four administrative villages: Lingjiang Village, Xiaguan Village, Zhuangyuan Building Village and Xinwuli Village. It is said that the ancestor of the village, Li Daobian, was appointed by the court to pacify the chaos. When Li succeeded, the court changed, and Li hid his name here, farming, multiplying offspring, and forming today's Xiaguan Village.
🚉Transportation strategy:
