[Kobe, Nagata] Rich matcha ice cream made by a long-established tea shop in the shopping district
Matcha is Japan's pride!
It's also popular with people overseas.
You can now find matcha and matcha-flavored foods all over Japan, but we'd like to introduce you to a long-established tea shop that has thoroughly pursued matcha and commercialized many ice creams.
The shop is located in the Taisho-suji shopping arcade in Nagata Ward, Kobe.
It's about a 5-minute walk south from JR Shin-Nagata Station.
In front of the shop, various Japanese teas are displayed on carts, and there are also ice cream showcases lined up.
As I was checking out the situation from the shop front, the owner came out and said, "You can drink matcha inside."
There are two tables inside the shop. There were customers who looked like locals sitting there, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing.
It was a hot day, so I decided to eat ice cream.
There are many different matcha ice creams, from simple to slightly strong to very strong, so it was hard to decide which one to eat.
If I'm going to eat it, I'll go for the richest ice cream! So I ordered the "Kiwami" for 1,000 yen.
A deep green matcha ice cream that looks rich was brought to me right away. It was topped with gold powder, giving it a luxurious feel.
When I took a bite, the matcha was very rich and very delicious♡
Perhaps because of the high green tea content, it melts slowly.
It feels more like eating the ice cream than licking it.
I was able to enjoy the delicious green tea and ice cream while listening to the owner's thoughts about tea and valuable stories.
