2025 Mushimasgali Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in October)

We spent a fortnight on Safari Island and it was an incredible experience. The staff was consistently pleasant and proactive in catering to our needs. Our beach bungalow was inviting and underwent daily cleaning. The food was exceptional, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. A standout feature of the island is its breathtaking house reef, teeming with diverse marine life. Each day brought new discoveries. Safari Island offers the ideal setting for relaxation. The standout experience for us was the whale shark overnight trip. We enjoyed the company of a fantastic crew—Imad/Imran/Zuheru—who exerted themselves to ensure we spotted a whale shark. If you are contemplating this adventure, I strongly suggest this crew. The journey was truly remarkable and unforgettable. A must-do.

We experienced an incredibly relaxing time on safari island. Our beach bungalow on the lagoon side was perfect. The room was spacious， bright， and airy. The bathroom was enormous， featuring a back door for easy access to the shower. Limar， who took great care of our room， was very attentive and kept it spotless. We also had our own table in the restaurant throughout our stay， and Alif was fantastic， even pouring our tea as we arrived for breakfast. There was a wide variety of foods available， catering to everyone's tastes， with fresh fish every night， themed nights， and roast dinners. Breakfast was equally delightful with freshly made pancakes， waffles， and every jam or spread imaginable. Sanjaya was wonderful at the Palm bar. By the second night， he already knew our order and was incredibly accommodating， chatting with us like friends about cricket. We hope to see him again at a game. All in all， it was the best holiday we've ever had. If you're seeking numerous activities， this island might not be for you. However， if you want a place to unwind and be treated like royalty， this is definitely the spot. Thank you to all the staff on Safari Island. We'll return soon.

I visit different islands every time. This Safari is located 25 minutes by seaplane southwest of Male. Overall, the location is not far, not close, just right. The island is relatively quiet, and there are not many people in mid-December. The hotel is well managed. The structure is also reasonably arranged. We booked a semi-water villa, and the entrance is on the beach. There is a large terrace at the end of the room, with stairs leading directly to the sea. The house is octagonal. The roof is made of traditional straw mats, and there are three large floor-to-ceiling windows in the room. The sunset can be seen in full view. The hotel has all the facilities, and the room is well equipped. The air conditioner is not very powerful, but you come here to enjoy the tropical temperature. The restaurant is clean and tidy, and each room has a fixed seat for guests. Although the variety of food does not change much, it is very fresh and breaks through the curry flavor of most local hotels in the past. The waiters are very enthusiastic and polite. The water around the island is clear, with high visibility, but most of the corals are polluted. Compared with previous visits, the number and variety of fish have decreased a lot. There are many large sharks gathered under the restaurant. It is very shocking. Diving experience is average, snorkeling is ok. It was a bit hard to catch the strong wind and waves.
