After ending our safari, we spent 4 days in Mombasa, Kenya's second largest city, to rest. There is a historic old town by the sea, as well as excellent beach resorts. Here are a few things to do in Mombasa — 🏖️Holiday at Diani Beach Diani Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Kenya. The sea is beautiful and it's a one and a half hour drive from Mombasa city. There are many resorts along the beach, and after the safari, you can find one to lie down for two days to fully recover. We stayed at Diamond Leisure, where you can see blue 🪺 monkeys everywhere in the hotel, which is a sight in itself 😂. 🐫Camel riding on the beach Every day on the beach, there are people who herd camels for tourists to take photos. This is a very commercialized activity, but the photos are really good! African camels are very tall and gentle, and it's worth a ride if you encounter them. 🪨Cave restaurant This is a famous restaurant near Diani Beach. The environment is indeed great, located in a natural cave formed tens of thousands of years ago, and it's very romantic at dusk. However, the food is very average, mainly for the atmosphere, and you need to book in advance. 🛕Old town walking tour Mombasa's old town is undeniably charming. Influenced by Arabs for centuries, the streets are heavily Islamic. Women walk in incredibly vibrant folk costumes, the streets are crowded with various tuk-tuks, and the old streets form a very characteristic cityscape. But ❗️There are few tourists on the old town road, and you should not go out alone. We joined a free walking tour and dared to move around the city with a local guide. The itinerary includes Mombasa's most important historical site, Jesus Fort, as well as old town alleys, spice markets, and ivory gates. We met a few children asking for money and brokers trying to solicit business. If there is no guide, it is not safe, so be careful. 🚤View the city coastline In Mombasa, we stayed in the newer and wealthier area of English Point Hotel, which is relatively better and safer. From here you can see the old town across a bay, the staggered buildings and the piers stretching out from the sea surface reminded me of Venice for a moment. · ⚠️Finally, be aware of safety in Mombasa. On our last day here, we were discriminated against by an Uber driver, which was the only unpleasant experience of the trip. This place is very distinctive, but if you are not an experienced traveler, you can skip Mombasa city and spend two or three days at a beach resort.

In the small seaside town of Watamu in Kenya, I accidentally took a hotel away from the city. On an island in the national park, I took a tuk-tuk and then changed to a boat to arrive. I was attracted by this idyllic base. The only three guests we went to the hotel. The hotel has a large garden and swimming pool. The location of the restaurant is just overlooking the Indian Ocean. There is a wooden balcony, except for the park staff. During the day, the sea garden was extinguished at night, and the sky was replaced by the Milky Way. We sat on the balcony and counted the stars.

The remote African continent of Kenya, in addition to the famous Maasai Mara National Park to see the animal migration, there is also the opportunity to play the original Indian Ocean, that is to reach Mombasa. When I walked into the fort, it was as if I had gone back in time, to the colonial era, a time of conflict and cultural integration. The fortress has a spectacular appearance. It is built of limestone and its overall design is in the shape of a cross, symbolizing the Christian faith. At that time, this place was not only a defensive fortification, but also an important stronghold for the Portuguese to control the East African coastline. Walking into the fortress, you can see high walls, sturdy watchtowers and rooms where weapons were once stored. Every corner bears traces of history, allowing people to deeply appreciate the hardships and turmoil of that era. The exhibition area in the museum houses many cultural relics, including ancient weapons, ceramic utensils, and nautical maps, which vividly show the historical stories here. The tour guide explained in detail the fort's role in different periods: from its construction by the Portuguese, to its occupation by the Arabs and the Ottoman Empire, to its use by British colonists, it has witnessed the rise and fall of multiple empires, as well as the collision of cultures and religions. This trip to Fort Jesus not only gave me a deeper understanding of Kenya’s colonial history, but also reminded me to cherish the peace and freedom we have today. If you are a muslim so please worry-free of finding food. Even though it is the second largest city in Kenya, its local life is not as crowded as in Nairobi the capital city. If you are looking to a quiet place for relaxing, you can consider Mombasa for your destination list whenever you happened to visit Kenya. People here very welcoming and warm and polite. I feel safe staying a couple nights in Mombasa.

By that time, I promise myself that one day I could see and witness the wildlife animals with my bare eyes. #2024mapped Antelopes here in this sanctuary are typically protected from hunting and habitat loss. It provides a safe environment for these animals to live and focused on conservation efforts. As I arrived, I found it amazing that this sanctuary could protect these antelopes well. This was one of my best experience ever to witness the antelopes this close 🥹. Wasinii Island, is a small island in the Coast of Kenya. It is truly a hidden gem and worth the time and money. You get to explore marine life and guaranteed to see dolphins 🐬. Foreigners are charged slightly more, but it is not exaggerated. As a Foreigner, irregardless of the country you are coming from, Expect to pay a sum of around 50$( inclusive of one meal consisting of fresh sea food) for a 6 hrs boat trip to go and the explore real time Marine life. Best months to visit are in; May, June, January, December.

#beachlife One of the most beautiful beaches I have seen. The water is so warm that I almost thought I was bath water. The palm trees, the camels and the sun... what more you want to forget everything arround you ? Not that crowdy like the famous beaches. I love that. At low tide you can walk on the sea. Attention, bathshoes would be an advantage, there are sea urchins. We were able to see and touch many animals, but someone looked after us. The tide starts again around midday, around 2 a.m
