Maison Heler Hotel|Surrealist Story
|A surreal story. Designer Philips. Starck showed off the surreal nine-story Maison Heler hotel in Metz, France, which is topped by what looks like a 19th-century mansion.
Conceived entirely by Starck, the hotel was designed to tell the surreal story of Manfred Heler, a fictional character whose mansion was thrust nine stories into the air.

“Manfred Heller inherits a beautiful house from his parents,” Stark explains. “As an orphan, he finds himself alone in this mansion surrounded by a large park. Everything is going well for him until he starts to get bored.” “To deal with this boredom, he tries to invent everything,” he continues. “He was an exceptionally rigorous and creative man, not necessarily successful in everything he undertook, but always meticulously guided by an innocent desire to create, with wit and poetry, at all costs.”
