SM Mall of Asia is one of the largest malls in the Philippines, and even makes the list of the world's largest malls, too. It's certainly not your run-of-the-mill mall but is more of a tourist destination with lots to offer in terms of shopping, leisure, and entertainment. Situated right by the scenic Manila Bay, the mall is a sprawling complex boasting top-tier facilities and a good mix of local and global brands. #AbsolutelyFreeTrip I went to various casinos, mainly Okada Manila, for poker. I stayed at the Savoy Hotel, which is less than 1km from the airport. The rooms were very clean and Wi-Fi was available and the staff were friendly and safe. I always used Grab to get around, and the Filipino drivers had high driving skills and I never felt uneasy. I wonder how they could drive smoothly on such difficult roads (lol) There were certainly some concerns about the security situation, but Makati reminded me of a Roppongi-like streetscape. There were many high-end shops with beautiful street trees. I had a massage in the city, and it was excellent for about 2700 yen for 90 minutes. As for the casinos, there was strict baggage check and you could play comfortably 24 hours a day in a safe area. It was a worthwhile trip, as it cost about 55,000 yen for a round-trip flight and a 3-day hotel stay.
