Segantang Garam Chalet Fishing Port!
The place was nice however, the facilities need to be improvised some more, such as the accessibility for disabled (wheelchair), and much sturdy maintenance of the walkaway within the floating chalet and ports. Please consider this effectively as the disabled also need to be emerged in our community.
Beautiful place, paddy fields, mangrove ny the river. Chalet on the river looks amazing. Suitable place for those who love fishing
Been here for the first time with family. Took the chalet with 2 ariconditioned room. So far this is one of the cleanest on water chalet i've been. Safety wise is good but can be improved. Saw pictures and videos of people fishing there with good catch but we bring back nothing...tones of ropes underwater that cause the hook to stuck when fishing from chalet...😥 For those who plan to just relax with family without demanding much of the accommodation this is the place for you. They even have catering package but need to book in advance...

there’re a lot of temples (candi) that has been unearthed in this area, proving the Hindu-Buddhist influence in Kedah Tua. The most preserved is Candi Bukit Batu Pahat that was built in 6th century A.D. (photo 1).
while they’re excavating the temples, they also found jetty remains, iron-smelting sites, and a clay brick monument dating back to 110 AD, making it the oldest man-made structure to be recorded in Southeast Asia.
there is 3 part of the museum:
- outdoor: the reconstructed temples
- 1st Gallery: artifacts related to the Hindu-Buddhist influence
- 2nd Gallery: artifacts related to economical activity in the ancient city (Kedah Tua)
- toilet and surau is provided outside of the building.
- there is an authentic thai restaurant nearby which is popular among the locals (info from the museum staff)

We had a good experience on the last one and was looking forward to it again this time.
We ordered the Mexican Nachos and Chicken Poppers with 2 Cafe Lattes.
Mexican Nachos (RM16) - Portion was pretty good, enough for sharing with 2-3 Pax, lots of minced beef, veggies and cheese was also banyak (mozzarella). Drizzled with bbq sauce. Yumms
Chicken Poppers (RM12) - Portion size was decent, chicken was tender but the batter has room for improvement, taste a bit bland, came with cili mayo, which goes well with the chicken poppers. Sedap jugak.
Cafe Latte (RM9) - the one we had was a bit weak, can be better, the microfoam can be more smoother and silky. It came piping hot, i guess the barista oversteamed the susu.

Historical of Bujang Valley Archaeological Museum
#museums #100waysoftravel
It’s probably the most important and most significant historical sites in Malaysia. It dates back to 800 BC, making it even older than the Roman Empire. Unfortunately not many people know about this place let alone visiting it. Hope the government invest more money and effort to preserve and beyond all promote this wonderful historical treasures of our country. This place has no entrance fee and it’s a pity that even during public holidays the visitors remain just a handful. Hopefully this place will get promoted more 👍⭐️

SEGANTANG GARAM CHALET MERBOK, KEDAH…
Back to nature experience. Nice environment, mangroves, river and beautiful scenery all around. The floating chalets are nice but could be even nicer with better maintenance. Great place to unwind with friends and families. Mangrove walk is educational. Should have more details of trees, plants and maybe photos of crabs and other inhabitants of the mangroves. Regular clean up of debris will make it eye soothing.
