A paradise with a thousand years of history on the Mediterranean Sea
I got up early and took a ferry from the Cirkewwa port of Malta to the Mgarr port of this paradise-like Gozo Island (Gozo) to start my day trip to Gozo Island.
🟧Gozo Island Introduction
The second largest island in Malta, Gozo, is located to the northwest of the main island, 14 kilometers long and 7 kilometers wide, it is really a small place. But when it comes to its history, it can be traced back to thousands of years ago, there were already traces of human activities here.
The capital Victoria City (Victoria) with its earthy yellow buildings and those crisscrossing alleys that make people lose their way, surprisingly gives people the illusion of being in Fez, Morocco. But the local customs here are much better, the passionate and friendly Maltese give people a full sense of security.
Climbing up the Citadel castle located in the center of Victoria City, you can take in the scenery of the island. You can also take a hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus like me to tour the entire island. Then have a Citywalk in Victoria City.
❤️Recommended attractions on the island:
1️⃣ Citadel Castle
2️⃣Victoria City
3️⃣Blue Window
4️⃣Ancient Salt Field
5️⃣Tal Mixtar Cave
6️⃣Xlendi
⏰Tour time: 1 day
⛴️Ferry ticket: 4.5 euros (round trip)
🚌Sightseeing bus: 20 euros

Olive trees in Malta
It is not difficult to spot olive trees while strolling the sidewalks of Valletta in the autumn. In fact, olive trees have a long history of existence in the island of Malta as they had been introduced by the Phoenician seafarers in the 1st millenium B.C.
I was here in mid-October and it was just the beginning of autumn and the olives are still not too ripe. But soon, the olives will be ripe and scattered all over the ground.
If you are in Malta during this time, you can certainly look out for olive picking experiences and sometimes they are for good cause too!

Wandering the streets of Malta
Malta; previously part of the Great British empire with mediterranean vibes and beautiful winding streets, it's little wander why this beautiful small island nation isn't so famous outside of Europe. Although Game of Thrones has thrust it into the limelight, and Valletta making European city culture, this is a must go destination.

Malta is the navel of the Mediterranean, floating in the sea between Sicily and Libya. An ancient temple-building civilization, later Phoenician, Roman, Arab, Norman, and Aragonese occupations all made some mark on Maltese culture and left an impressive collection of UNESCO-anointed sites. Malta has a church for every day of the year. In summer, you can’t avoid the festa. All Maltese towns and villages celebrate their patron saint in style with weeklong activities leading up to feast day, which climaxes with a procession, music, and fireworks. The most impressive fireworks displays are in the south of the island, where the villages of Żurrieq, Mqabba, Qrendi, Għaxaq, and Gudja compete fiercely. Santa Marija in August brings fireworks geeks from all over, because several feasts are celebrated simultaneously, naturally with fireworks befitting the occasion.

From the middle of October to the end of December, I’ve been to Malta. It was a wonderful place! Cosy coffee shops #thepastrypark and ice cream parlors. It was almost sunny days in spite of off-season. Also, it was safe and easy to walk around. #tripaway #sliema #malta #valletta

Malta comino island blue lagoon blue reef blue lake
blue lagoon is my favorite place in Malta, I love the blue, mint blue, I want to call her Malta blue.
Malta has three blues and is also a must-have place. Blue window, blue hole, blue lake. This is the Blue Lake. The blue window was collapsed by the waves in 2017, so cherish the blue lake.
Its like a palette that God overturned, and the beauty is suffocating. The whole seaside is a beautiful Miss Europe and the United States, everyone wearing a bikini, basking in the sun here, blowing the sea breeze. I can't hold the feast of the human body.
Tour: By car to the pier to buy tickets, there are two kinds of tickets to buy.
1. Buy a yacht ticket for combo gozo, first go to comino, then take a photo here at blue lagoon. After playing, take a yacht to gozo, another island sightseeing. After sightseeing, come back by cruise.
route and fare: malta-comino-gozo 14 ohms
gozo-malta 4 ohms
2. Buying a round-trip ticket for comino and malta, just go straight to the blue lagoon and play after playing. Return directly to malta.
route and fare: malta-comino-malta 14 ohms
!! I personally recommend taking the first route, because both places are going by boat at the pier of Malta, and this place is too far from the city center, so it is best to visit the day. You don't have to come back later, arrange other places to play. So get up early, comino island is still worth spending some time to explore, the more you go inside, the better. Super suitable for making big movies.

Remember when I was young, I often started to eat spinach after watching the Popeye. After eating, I began to show off my weak biceps, and I said that I was a strong sailor. When I grew up, I found that the Popeye Village really existed, and it was in my heart of Malta. As a loyalty to the Popeye, this is definitely one of the places where you have to punch in!

Travelogue of Malta, a Small Mediterranean Country
Malta, a small island nation located in the middle of the Mediterranean, is famous for its beautiful sea views and clear beaches. Upon arriving in Malta, the first thing that catches your eye is the endlessly stretching blue sea. The sea here is so transparent and refreshing that it looks like a painting.
One of the must-visit spots in Malta's sea travel is the Blue Lagoon. Located on Comino Island, this place is surrounded by crystal-clear water and white sand, making it a paradise in the Mediterranean. You can enjoy water activities or go snorkeling to observe the colorful marine life, feeling at one with nature.
Additionally, Malta's beaches have various charms. The golden sands of Golden Bay are perfect for watching the sunset, and in the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, you can see the serene harbor scenery with traditional Maltese fishing boats.

Mediteranean Cruise 🗺️
#cruisetrip
I recently returned from an unforgettable Mediterranean cruise, and I’m still buzzing from the experience! 🛳️ The journey took me to three stunning destinations: Malta, Cyprus, and Mallorca, each offering its own unique charm and beauty.
First stop was Malta, and let me tell you, Valletta is like stepping into a postcard. The architecture is incredible, and St. John’s Co-Cathedral is a must-see. We spent the day wandering the narrow streets, soaking in the history. The entrance fee for the cathedral was around €15, but it’s worth every cent for the intricate interiors alone. Plus, the harbor views are just breathtaking. 🌅
Next up was Cyprus, where we docked in Limassol. From there, we took a short trip to the ancient city of Kourion. The ruins, especially the amphitheater overlooking the sea, were absolutely stunning. Cyprus is a blend of ancient history and beautiful beaches, and the local food was a highlight—don’t miss out on trying some traditional meze! 🍽️ We spent the afternoon lounging at Lady’s Mile Beach, a perfect spot for relaxation.
Our final stop was Mallorca, where Palma stole my heart. The island is vibrant and full of life, with something for everyone. We visited the iconic Palma Cathedral, which is just as impressive as it looks in photos. Entrance was about €8. The winding streets of the old town are perfect for exploring, and the beaches, like Playa de Palma, are perfect for a lazy day by the sea. 🏖️
This cruise was everything I hoped for—stunning locations, rich history, and plenty of sunshine. Whether you’re into sightseeing, relaxing on the beach, or enjoying local cuisine, this Mediterranean route has it all. I’m already dreaming of my next adventure! ☀️

A sunny Holiday
#familytravel
While I have visited Malta both as a backpacker and on a family holiday. I thought Malta makes for a great family destination too. So Malta the country has 3 islands. One of the main island is also referred to as Malta. The other two being Gozo and Comino. There are good ferry connections and arrangements to get to any of the islands from your hotel.
Comino island is one of my favourites. It has gorgeous white sand beaches and turquoise waters. While staying at the Hotel, most of our meals were sorted except for Dinner. I think Malta has very good eateries that serve quality pizza's and pastas. In terms of international options we noticed Turkish, a Japanese and Indian restaurant. So there should be something that works for the family. My tip is to go for Sea food which I quite fresh.

The Blue Grotto of Malta 🇲🇹
#europetrip
Malta is one of the country in Europe and it is located in the southern Europe and Mediterranean Sea. In the recent trip to Malta, I have explored the Blue Grotto over there, which refers to Blue Cave. The shape of the cave is amazing and stunning with its own nature. The ocean is really beautiful and made me feel very comfortable. The blue grotto is only accessed by a speedboat which costs €10 for return. The colour inside of the Blue Grotto is unbelievable blue. Highly recommended!

Welcome to the 'Heart of the Mediterranean' | Malta
📸 This is the 'Heart of the Mediterranean' | Malta. 🌈 Malta - Located in the central Mediterranean, known as the heart of the Mediterranean, Europe's backyard, with an area of just over three hundred square kilometers, it boasts charming scenery and a pleasant climate! 🔺 The capital is Valletta!
🔜 Here, there are more than three hundred sunny days a year, with summer temperatures not exceeding 27 degrees and winter temperatures never dropping below 23 degrees.
🔜 The Maltese archipelago consists of three islands: Malta, Gozo, and Comino, along with countless megaliths, medieval dungeons, and friendly towns and villages.
✅ Winding streets are lined with Renaissance cathedrals and Baroque palaces. Malta is the largest of the islands. Gozo is more rural and is the second largest.
✅ Malta is a photographer's paradise, as its narrow and undulating streets are perfect for photographers to create atmospheric images. This street stands out among many, indeed super suitable for photography!

Gozo
Gozo is a medieval fortified city located at the geographical center of Gozo Island.
It is the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago (second only to Malta itself), although it appears to have a lower population density than the two islands.
The national dish of Malta is a stewed rabbit called fenkata, which is present at almost all events.
In the medieval origins of this festival, this was the only time of the year when ordinary Maltese were allowed to eat rabbit, as rabbits were usually reserved for the knights who ruled the island at the time.

Malta's Timeless Tapestry 🏰
Malta, an archipelago in the heart of the Mediterranean, captivated me with its blend of rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture. This island nation, with its layers of history dating back thousands of years, offered a journey through time where ancient temples, medieval cities, and remnants of empires whisper tales of bygone eras.
Valletta, Malta's capital, is a fortress city with baroque architecture, steep streets, and sun-drenched piazzas that exude a timeless charm. The Upper Barrakka Gardens provided a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour, one of the most beautiful natural harbors in the world, while the intricate artwork and coffered ceilings of St. John's Co-Cathedral told stories of the Knights of Malta's opulence and devotion.
A visit to Mdina, the silent city, was like stepping into a medieval fairy tale. Enclosed within ancient walls, this former capital's narrow alleys and noble houses evoked a sense of mystery and grandeur, with each turn revealing hidden courtyards and baroque facades that have stood the test of time.
Malta's prehistoric sites, such as the Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra temples, left me in awe of the island's ancient civilizations. These megalithic structures, among the oldest free-standing buildings in the world, provided a profound connection to Malta's Neolithic ancestors and their architectural ingenuity.
The island's rugged coastline and crystal-clear waters beckoned for exploration. From the stunning Blue Grotto, accessible by boat, where the sea sparkles in shades of azure and emerald, to the idyllic beaches of Gozo, Malta's sister island, each landscape painted a picture of natural beauty untouched by time.
Maltese cuisine, a reflection of the island's rich cultural tapestry, was a delight. Traditional dishes like pastizzi, rabbit stew, and freshly caught seafood, coupled with the robust flavors of local wines, offered a taste of Malta's culinary heritage, where Mediterranean flavors meet rustic charm.
Evenings in Malta were magical, with the limestone buildings glowing in the golden hour and the sounds of festas (village feasts) filling the air. The vibrant nightlife in St. Julian's, with its lively bars and clubs, contrasted with the tranquil evenings spent on rooftop terraces, watching the stars twinkle over the Mediterranean.
Malta, with its #TimelessTapestry, is a testament to the enduring spirit of its people and the beauty of its landscapes. This island nation, where history and modernity dance in harmony, invited me to discover its secrets, celebrate its cultural festivals, and immerse myself in the warmth of its sun and sea.

Malta: A stunning island nation in the Mediterranean, known as the 'Heart of the Mediterranean'

(This is the 1623rd travel shot published in 1004 cities in 56 countries/regions across 5 continents)
Malta is a true island nation in the heart of the Mediterranean. Unless you're on a cruise, you generally wouldn't make a special trip here.
Valletta, the capital of Malta, is like a large open-air museum, exuding irresistible charm. It's romantic to wander around here.
The whole range of Valletta is not very large, and the entire city can be explored on foot. Most of the buildings in Valletta are beige, and the ancient and narrow streets are lined with all kinds of small shops. As you stroll through Valletta, you will find that every corner here has a mysterious historical trace.
Because the scenery here is really charming, and there are too many small shops that attract your eyes. In this way, walking and stopping, searching and searching, a whole day's time quietly passed, almost missed the closing time of the cruise.

I went to Malta when I was younger . I enjoyed it so much. The weather was hot, cool and the food was exquisite. Europe always had the best food and it's so welcoming to see this when you arrive. I went to the beach, used the gym and met some nice people . I even went to a nightclub It was so good, I didn't want to leave. I must make it an option to return to here. I really like the Mediterranean
