Lyon, France.
Lyon is a beautiful city rich in history, located in the Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. The city is renowned for its cuisine and wine, as well as its stunning architecture and art. It is an ideal destination for walking tours and exploring traditional French atmosphere.
Starting a walking tour in Lyon should not miss Vieux Lyon or the Old Town district, which is filled with ancient alleys and colorful buildings that have preserved their classic Renaissance charm. Here, you will find traboules, which are secret passageways connecting various buildings, making the exploration of this area more exciting and enjoyable.

| Stroll through Lyon, a low-key town ~ with a day trip guide.
Lyon is an ancient and beautiful city in southeastern France and the second largest city in France. It is divided into the Old City and the New City.
One-day tour route:
Old Town of Lyon—St. George’s Church—Fourvière Hill—Notre Dame de Fourvière—Lyon Roman Theater
.
Walking around the old town, you will see many medieval, Renaissance and classical buildings connected to each other, and you will feel the strong ancient atmosphere.
The streets are paved with cobblestones, and walking there feels like you've returned to the Middle Ages.
fourvière mountain
This is a major symbol of Lyon, the cradle of Lyon and the birthplace of Christianity in Lyon. Visitors can walk or take a cable car up the mountain. The top of the mountain is the commanding height of Lyon. From here, you can overlook the entire city of Lyon and it is also a good place to enjoy the night view.
There is a Catholic Church of Our Lady of Fourvière on the mountain, built in the 19th century in Baroque style. On the south side are the ancient Roman Arena and the Roman-Gaul Museum.
.
Notre Dame de Fourvière
Almost every city has a landmark building. On the top of the mountain, sits Lyon’s first landmark building, Notre Dame de Fourvière. The earliest Notre Dame de Fourvière temple was built in 1170. The current Notre Dame de Fourvière church consists of two buildings: the upper and lower buildings. It is a church. The upper church is very gorgeous, while the lower church is very simple. People usually visit the magnificent upper church.
.
Lyon Coliseum
Built in 15 BC during the reign of Emperor Augustine, the adopted son of Julius Caesar, this theater is one of the oldest theaters in France. It has a large theater and a small theater. It can accommodate 10,700 people at its peak. It is a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy the sunshine. Great place.
.
Strategy tips:
1. The center of the old city is the Saint-Jean Cathedral built in the 12th century. A recommended walking route starts from the church and goes to St. Paul's Church on the north side.
2. There is a viewing platform on the south side of Notre Dame, which overlooks the scenery of Old Lyon.
3. Tickets: Free and open
4. Play time: 2-3 hours recommended
5. How to get there: Head east from the Roman Theater to the "Notre Dame de Fourvière".
6. Opening hours: 8:00-19:00 for the cathedral and 7:00-19:00 for the chapel.
A must see landmark in Lyon 🇫🇷⛪️🔔
#timetotravel
The Basilica is located on the Fouvrière hill, overlooking Lyon and there are 3 ways to get there:
1) To take the tram from Vieux Lyon to Fourvière
2) Hike (~18 mins on foot)
3) By car (~4 mins)
I took the 1st option going up and the 2nd option down. I would definitely recommend taking the tram because the tram itself is another attraction in lyon (much like the peak tram in HK).
The Basilica is a majestic architecture with both outstanding interior and exterior design. It is definitely worth visiting.

2) The pizzas here make you feel like Italy 🇮🇹 The best place for that is Vico Pizzzza on 72 Rue

3) Don't visit France without trying oysters! Visit Nacre on 14 Rue Lainerie, 69005 Lyon, France
4) Macarons! Most patisseries in the city sell amazing macarons 🍪
Bon appétit! 🍽️
[Europe][France] Traboules, food, and the Little Prince in Lyon
There are a lot to see and eat in Lyon. I encountered racist acts unfortunately and that made the trip less enjoyable. Despite the unpleasant experience, I do find the city itself looks beautiful.
Beautiful church in Lyon
Highly recommend visiting this beautiful church when in Lyon. Sitting atop a hill overlooking Lyon, the views are unparalleled.
Getting There - Take the funicular from central Lyon up
Two museums into one
Ticket rate: 9.5 Euro for adults
This is like attending two museum in one building: cinema and miniature! for the cinema part, we can take a look on what happened behind the movie screen from 1960s until now. The museum provided legendary film sets, costumes, masks, animatronics, whatever tangible created for the sole purpose of their movie.
They have informations provided in english so do not worry if you dont speak any french!

Are you ready to GET INSIDE?
This hotel is special. It is carefully decorated with the inspiration of the Little Prince history. We felt very special. The room is beautiful. The view? It looks like the Prince view from his castle. It’s amazing to be able to see the river from your window and the pool is huge and heated. The AMAZING paint walls in Lyon
The city of Lyon in France is known the world over as the culinary city, but not only that, these painted walls attract tourists from around the world. It’s amazing!!! It looks so real! 😳 It definitely worth the visit. The name of the location is “Fresque des Lyonnais” or “Le Mur Deus Canuts” and you can easily reach there by walking from the downtown or taking a taxi. Amazing street art!!!
#summervacation#urbanexplorer
The old town of Lyon, at the foot of the Fourviere Mountains, still retains the old French architecture from the 15th to the 17th centuries. It runs through the ancient and narrow stone street, slowly strolling through the streets of various boutique shops or stopping to sit on the road. Drink coffee at the side cafe and experience the life of the French in the 15th century.
Walk in the fertile grounds of the city, pass the Lyon city hall, or step onto the stone staircase in the old town to climb the Fourviere hills and overlook the city of Lyon, visit the castle-like church of Our Lady of Fourviere. In the ancient Roman theater, Lyon is a historic and tasteful city worth a visit.
Lyon, France, can finish the city in one day, if only passing by.
has a special recommendation
The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvire is a Catholic sub-temple in Lyon, France. Combining Romanesque and Byzantine architecture, I chose two non-gothic designs that were unusual at the time. With exquisite mosaics, superb window panes, and St. Joseph's basement, it gives me a powerful visual shock. Whether it's murals, glass, domes and columns, everything is intricately crafted.
The Notre Dame de Fourviere actually contains two churches. The church is very gorgeous, and the church is very simple.
Overlooking the Lyon peninsula on the top of the Riviera, the Rhone River and the Sane River meet here. It is a very good view point. It is recommended to climb up to overlook the charm of Lyon, the night is quite beautiful, the whole mountain There are lights, golden light and river water.
