This is one among many amazing historical sites in Jiujiang. Located in Poyang Lake, Lushan, Jiujiang, Jiangxi, China. In Apple or Google Map you can search for Luoxing Mound, takes about one hour to arrive from Jiujiang city using a Taxi or Didi. This ancient site has survived for thousands of years and it’s unique because only in a small period of time in a year you can see it as whole picture the rest of the time it’s hidden under water. Other time the whole place is covered by poyang lake and it requires you to use a boat to reach the historic site. It’s such an existing experience to be able to learn different cultures. Sandie Waterfall - Lushan Mountain 🏔️ is a pity we can't swim in these magical natural pools 😔 it reminded me north of Portugal where we have the same (but people allowed to swim ehehee) Located on the East side of Lushan Mountain, a less touristy and crowded area is perfect for a hike all the way up and enjoying the beautiful views. Mount Lu is Unesco World Heritage, is one of the spiritual centers of Chinese civilization, located in Jiangxi Province, about 100 kilometers from the capital Nanchang and 20 kilometers south of Jiujiang City. Mount Lu shows an unique combination of scenery, religions, education and culture: a blending of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Islam and Christianity, together with a beautiful natural landscape made of cliffs, sea of clouds, waterfalls, grottoes, rocks, cliff inscriptions and steles. the Flower Path Garden (in Chinese 花径) is famous because it is the place where the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi wrote his great poem Ode to the Peach Flowers when he was wandering around here in a late spring and near Dalin Temple he was surprised to find the peach flowers were still in blossom, so he wrote the poem. Ruqin Lake (如琴湖) is a man-made lake built in 1961 and named after a stone inscription of four Chinese characters which means “the sound of the stream into the lake is like a lute playing” the shape of the lake is also like a lute. The Grotto of Taoist Immortal also called Immortal’s Cave and Buddha Hand Cliff because it looks like a hand of Buddha, it is a natural cave in a precipice, with two springs. Lulin Lake is relatively small lake wonderful place to shot the autumn colors in Lushan. Is not a tourist spot, I did discover it just because the Lushan Museum is in front to the lake. Since the museum was the former residence of Chairman Mao Zedong in Lushan, he did choose a great spot for his house. Three Step Waterfall (in Chinese San die quan三叠泉) also called Three Tiled Springs Waterfall, it is located at the foot of the Five Old Man Peaks and is one of the most famous sight on Mount Lu. With a drop height of 215 meters, the waterfall fall over three natural terraces formed by glaciers to the pool below (from the bus stop need to walk 10min to the cable way station, 1492m long, altitude from 839 to 992m, 10min run, 80cny round way, this takes you to the first layer, then need to hike down for about 1600 steps to the bottom to see the waterfall - it takes 1.5h from the cable way exit to walk down to the waterfall and back) #lucaworldtraveler

The weather is different from downtown in Jiujiang. Best time to visit, November or even in summer. From Shenzhen North Train Station, we took a train to Jiujiang, Jiangxi. more than 4 hours travel by train. Yes it takes forever but I enjoyed the view from the train's window and I'm fine with that. By plane is more convenient for busy travellers. This place is part of Lushan Quaternary Glaciation National Geopark. Ruqin Lake, Lushan District, Jiujiang Jiangxi 332900 My best birthday ever! Our hotel is in Jiujiang near the train station. Two hours drive going to this mountain.

We took a bus from the CBD to the base of the mountain. There are buses specially available for tourist going to climb Mount Lu & they’ll charge you according to where you’ll start your climbing from as well as if you’ll need transportation back. We started from the base & climbed all the way to the top, we however took a cable car on our way down, and took a taxi when moving from one scenic spot to the other. There are many attractions that one may see. We went in winter, on a cold & snowy day so we were fortunate enough to experience & see the beautiful views from a high up altitude. There are lot of temples & historical sites around. There are a variety of nice hotels to choose from & these vary with your budget. There are lots of restaurants serving different kinds of food. Be sure to try out a famous soup called WaGuanTang - 瓦罐汤, it really helped setting the mood before our hiking experience at Mt Lu. Just before you get on the cable car, there are many stores outside selling souvenirs and different kinds of herbal tea.
