Gardens of Saint Clotilde
Santa Clotilde Gardens
🌳 The gardens were created in the early 20th century, when the wealthy physician Raúl Rivadeneira Godó decided to translate his longing for Italy into a Catalan setting. Yes, he was inspired by Renaissance Italy, hence the strict geometry, neat paths, and the feeling of being in a poem written not in words, but in plants. They say he dedicated this place to his wife, which adds a touch of romance that you sense in every marble statue and every pond.
🪴 The garden's main magic is how it blends into nature. From here, you can see the sea, but it doesn't scream with its vastness, but seems to whisper from afar. Cypresses, magnolias, bougainvilleas—all of this doesn't just grow, but lives in its own rhythm. Hidden between them are staircases, fountains, and marble statues of nymphs, seemingly watching you—calmly and slightly detached.
🟢 This place is ideal for those tired of crowds and seeking peace. Here, you take photos not for Instagram, but for yourself, to capture the moment: the light filtering through the foliage or the reflection of clouds in the water.
P.S. The oranges were overripe, the lizard was cheeky.
