2025 Le Mans Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in May)

Despite the fact that the UK and France are separated by a sea, every time I cross the sea to France, I feel that the weather is much better than the UK😆 This term break we are looking for another French town to explore, this time choosing Le Mans — but we are not going to see Le Mans 24 hours racing. Le Mans is slightly further from the port of Calais and takes 4 hours to get there. Although the distance is a bit far, but when you see the hotel you feel that this long march is well worth it🙃 All the rooms in this hotel are built by the host himself, the appearance of the house is very Phuket villa feeling, the hotel has a heated swimming pool, since we checked in yesterday did not have other guests, so it turns out we have a private swimming pool🤫 Each house can see the vast prairie view, the parking lot next to the own farmhouse, just a newborn duck stumbling very cute. Luckily this time we stayed for a week, it would be a waste to stay here for only one day. City tax is also cheap. • However, the rooms are small and dark, and there are no bathrobes or bathtubs 🛁💦 • The room quality is more like a three-star level by Paris standards. 🚗 Location & Access • Convenient for those traveling by car with free parking! • Easy access to the old town, perfect for sightseeing 🏰✨ 👩💼 Staff & Service • The front desk staff are kind and responsive 😊 • The Nespresso and water in the room are delicious ☕ and free. ⚠️ Points of Concern • The room is dark, and it could use more brightness 🕯️ • A bit cramped 📌 Overall Convenient as a base for sightseeing! The rooms are clean and tidy, and there’s no better choice for sightseeing in Le Mans. ⸻ 🏎️ What kind of city is Le Mans? Le Mans is a historic city in the Pays de la Loire region of western France. It is especially famous as the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, making it a holy place for motorsport fans 🏁🚗💨 🏰 Highlights • Old Town (Cité Plantagenet): A beautiful area that retains a medieval atmosphere • Le Mans Cathedral: A magnificent Gothic-style church ⛪ • Le Mans Museum: A spot where you can learn about the history of the race We visited the Porsche Museum! There were hardly any people, so we could take as many photos as we wanted 😉 Plus, it’s free and super clean! 🚆 Access • About 1 hour by TGV from Paris Montparnasse Station 🚄✨ • About 2.5 hours by car from Paris 🛣️ 🔴 About Safety Le Mans is relatively calm in tourist areas, but there are pickpockets and petty crimes around the station, so be careful when moving around at night 🚨🌙 When we walked around, we saw many homeless people, and there were security guards in the supermarkets... it felt a bit unsafe! Summary Le Mans is a unique city where medieval streets and motorsport culture blend together. It’s easily accessible from Paris and is recommended for those interested in history and racing! 🏎️✨
