1. How to get there?
Search for Maragang hill registration centre.
For the first timer who would want to witness beautiful sunrise, I strongly recommend you to find a guide to ensure a smooth hike.
2. Package : Sunrise (3am) or day trip (6am). I choose sunrise so I need to be at the registration centre by 3am.
3. Price: rm85/pax including the transport from registration centre to the entrance, guide fee.
4. Experience : the trail is not really long but it’s no-less than challenging. Along the way, I encountered some steep hills and some area are uneven. Make sure that you’re bringing a headlamp (it’s all dark in the woods) and put on a windbreaker/ sweater that can keep you warm as it’s super chilly, even more chilly when you’re at the peak. The entire trail took me about 1h15min. By the time I arrived the peak, it’s around 445am, in which the sunrise is about it 530am-6am, so I waited for the sunrise. As the time passes, the scenery slowly turned vivid and I’m astonished by the utter natural beauty, I see fluffy sea of clouds at one side and once I turned around, the ginormous Mount Kinabalu is right in front of my eyes. I’m so grateful for the stunning views and it’s so worth it. The descend took me about 50min so the entire routine can be finished by latest 8am. And you can have a good breakfast to replenish your energy ✨

Fun and fulfilling Sabah trip ⛰️
It was my first ever trip to the East Malaysia, it’s so exciting to finally visit the land below the wind- Sabah. I’m honoured to witness the Mount Kinabalu in Kundasang, the fact that I’m already above 2000m sea level in Kundasang and seeing that even prominent and magnificent mountain is truly a stunning sight to behold. One of the activities to do in Kundasang is definitely to take a thrilling and adventurous ATV ride while enjoying the scenic view of the mountains⛰️. Secondly, take a sunrise climb to Maragang hill and you’ll be amazed by the beautiful sunrise and sea of clouds ☁️ do bring a headlamp and put on a windbreaker as it’s super chilling up there. Last but not least, you must not missed out the Desa Dairy farm which you could enjoy the fresh and yummy yogurt and milk. Also, you can try feeding the cattle with grass and milk. Make you that you’re visiting in the morning to get to see the beautiful view of the Mount Kinabalu and take pictures with it. #malaysiatrip #sabahtrip #kundasang #100waysoftravel

Best dairy farm to visit in Kundasang, Sabah! 🐄
#travelanywhere
Ladang Tenusu Desa Cattle location: Jalan Cinta Mata Mesilou, 89308 Kundasang, Sabah.
Ladang Tenusu Desa Cattle(Desa Cattle Dairy Farm) is known as the ‘Little New Zealand’ of Sabah, its cooling air, foggy surroundings and highlands landscapes naturally make you feel as if you are somewhere overseas.
Recently visited this farm with my family, the place is an ideal destination for the whole family, where there are plenty of activities such as feeding the calves with bottled milk, cattles & goats feeding, observing how milk is processed as well as the educational tour for all. If you have ever wondered how milk is collected and then commercialized, Desa Cattle Farm is the place to be. One of the highlights is they offers newly packed milk at the cafe( I love chocolate & coffee flavour), and you can also enjoys flavourful Gelato ice-cream.
Visit to the Desa Cattle Dairy Farm are currently limited to three sessions daily with a limited number of visitors per each session.
Sessions:
🐮 First session: 8.00 am – 11.00 am
🐮 2nd session: 11.00 am – 2.00 pm
🐮 3rd session: 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm
Duration: 3 hours, entrance ticket: from RM8
Getting there: visitor can take mini bus or taxi from Jalan Padang Bus Station with direction to Kundasang/Ranau. Communicate with driver for drop-off at Kundasang town. A private or chartered vehicle is required to go to Desa Cattle Dairy Farm. Alternatively one can self-drive from Kota Kinabalu City.

Mezmering View Along Sosodikon Trail
#familytrips2024 #awesomepic #visitsabah
Trail was rocky but not slippery, it is definitely suitable for anyone to climb up the hill and enjoy this mezmerizing view of Kinabalu in the background. Entrance fee was RM 10 but they do not really have specific/ designated parking area for this park so take note on which time, date or day that are more busy (such holiday) for you to avoid the crowd. You may park alongside the road and there was also, one small cleared area where I saw several cars being parked (not sure if that was an official parking area). Also, it is a very small road driving up here, do pay extra careful on the road.

🇲🇾 Sunrise Majesty: A Hike up Maragang Hill, Sabah
#gohiking
Last June me and my friend embarked on a sunrise hike to Maragang Hill in Sabah. Starting at 3 AM, this adventure was not just a hike but a journey through breathtaking landscapes that culminated in one of the most spectacular sunrises I've ever witnessed.🥹
Maragang Hill, sitting at 2,232 meters above sea level, offers a moderately challenging hike that is perfect for both seasoned hikers and those looking to prepare for the more daunting Mount Kinabalu.
The 3 AM start might sound daunting, but it’s well worth the effort. 💫💫The real challenge was the cold; the early morning temperatures on the hill can be brisk, so dressing in layers is essential. 🥶
Reaching the summit just as the first light of day began to stretch across the sky was an unforgettable experience. The panoramic views from Maragang Hill are simply stunning, with layers of mountains and valleys spread out beneath a sky turning from velvety midnight blue to warm shades of pink and orange. ❤️It’s a perfect spot for photographers and nature lovers alike, offering a moment of sublime peace as the sun rises.
For anyone interested in this hike, booking through the official website is straightforward, and there are options for both the conventional trail and a loop trail, depending on how much time you have and what you want to see. Remember to pack appropriately for cold weather, wear sturdy footwear, and bring water and snacks.
If you’re up for an early start and a memorable hike, Maragang Hill is the perfect place to challenge yourself and witness the awe-inspiring beauty of Sabah at dawn.🥳

HIKING TO SOSODIKAN HILL KUNDASANG
#malaysia
We reached there at 6am and the sky is already bright but the sun is still hiding behind the mountain. By the time we reach the viewing platform the sun is out. I believe dawn is the best time to be there as there is not many visitors and you can catch the best sky light view very clear view of the mountain. The climb is slightly tough for veterans but was ok for me. Entrance fee of RM5 is really worthy for the view we catched. One of the must visit place in kundasang! To get there, follow Google maps or waze directions and park at the hill entrance. There’s a ticket booth right at infront of the entrance.

Sunrise at Mt. Kinabalu
#Sabah in Borneo island, three countries coexist, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, Malaysia has two semiautonomous states in this island, Sarawak and Shabah, this last one is where Mt. Kinabalu is located, not only the highest mountain in the island but also in Southeast Asia, it’s also a National Park where thousands of tourists converge to explore the diverse ecosystems that you can encounter at different altitude as you climb this mountain. But you don’t need to be a climber or do extreme hikings to appreciate the magnificent views and the pleasant mountain air, just book one of the multiple lodges that you can choose near Kundasang , a village at the foots of Mt.Kinabalu famous for its dairy and vegetables market, enjoy some of the multiple activities you can do here including thermal bath, and short trekkings and be sure you go to bed early to catch the best pictures of the mountain at sunrise since the humid tropical clouds will cover the summit as the day progresses. don’t forget your binoculars to spot birds that will also be more visible in the early morning, this legendary mountain has everything to amaze all the publics and is a must to see in your Borneo adventure.
