An Enchanting Evening: A Magical Purple Sunset After the Rain
#bestsunset #100waysoftravel #kuching #beachday
I rarely witness a sunset with such charming purple and pink tones, but this one truly deserved a post. After an evening of heavy rain that kept us indoors, we enjoyed dinner in our executive room at Damai Beach Resort, listening to the downpour. When the rain finally stopped, we were greeted by the most breathtaking purple sunset right in front of us. The sky was painted in soft hues, creating a magical moment that felt like a reward after the storm. It was a sight that left us in awe, making the evening unforgettable.

#islandtour #100waysoftravel #borneo #sarawak #kuching #Satangisland #dolphin #snorkelling #santubong
Our visit to Satang Island in Kuching was an unforgettable adventure. This peaceful island, nestled near the coastline of Borneo, is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and abundant marine life. We began our journey early, meeting at the jetty at 8:30 AM, with high hopes for dolphin spotting. To our delight, we were lucky enough to catch sight of three Irrawaddy dolphins from a distance, making the trip even more special. As we approached Bird Island, we were greeted by the sight of countless birds soaring around the island, adding to the serene beauty of the place.
Once on Satang Island, we had the chance to snorkel in the clear waters, exploring the rich underwater world. Our guide even let us try fresh sea urchin, which was an unexpected treat! The island is also known for its role as a turtle conservation center, with basic amenities and simple toilets. While facilities were modest, the island's charm and natural beauty made up for it. We had packed our own lunch and made sure to clean up thoroughly before leaving, ensuring we left the pristine island just as we found it. Chasing Sunrise at Selabat Hill: A Journey Through Nature's Wild Side
#hikingtime #100waysoftravel #kuching #sarawak
Waking up at 3 AM for a sunrise hike at Salabat was challenging, but the experience was well worth it. We started our hike at 4 AM, navigating through the dark forest with excitement and a bit of nervousness. Along the way, we encountered a snake and spotted several pitcher plants, adding a touch of wild beauty to the trek. The rocky terrain near the summit was tough, but our local Malay guide was incredibly helpful, guiding us with ease. Impressively, he spoke fluent Mandarin and Hakka, making communication a breeze. The breathtaking view from the top made the early wake-up call entirely worthwhile.

Another day another cafe
📍 Ember Cafe, Armadele Residence Kuching
It's a newly open cafe that serve brunch and dinner foods. I was intrigued to try out this place, obviously I was curious to see so much hype surrounding this relatively new aesthetic cafe. I really like the atmosphere, good coffee, and nice interior with classy environment. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The drinks and foods were all tasty and worthwhile. We ordered the peach strudel, aglio olio pasta and croissant with bacon. They taste okay but the peach strudel was great. It melted perfectly in my mouth. The staffs were exceptional and very friendly. They were all attentive to your needs. The quality of service and food were all on point. In general, its a instagrammable hang out place for youngsters and a good to take pictures at. If you're up for a fresh place with beautiful architecture then this is a must to visit.

A Calm Corner in the City
#kuchingitinerary
This café in Kuching felt like a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by soft lighting, modern art, and a cozy setup that just invited you to relax. I ordered the pumpkin soup with sourdough, and it was honestly the perfect comfort meal — creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy. The slice of sourdough was just the right amount of crunch to go with the smooth soup.
To complete the meal, I went for a glass of peach oolong tea. Lightly floral with a refreshing finish — it was the kind of drink that makes you want to sip slowly. The whole space had a warm, creative vibe. Whether you’re reading, journaling, or just taking a break from exploring, this café is a hidden gem worth spending time in.
