Just got back from Koh Samui, a blood and tears lesson summary 💔 Some hard truths I just have to share 🌴 November is considered the peak tourist season in Koh Samui, the dry season just started, plenty of sunshine but not unbearably hot 🌞☀️ But I really have to say, those unreal beautiful photos in the guides come with sweat and crowds behind the scenes! Still, overall experience is forever awesome, here’s my honest review 👇 Itinerary 🗓️✈️ Day 1: Arrive in Koh Samui + first experience at Chaweng Beach Took a taxi straight from the airport to the hotel, but here’s a trap—the airport taxis charge 50% more than outside 🚗💸 Recommend booking airport transfer in advance or catching a taxi outside the airport. Arrived at Chaweng Beach by 4 PM, the sunset was indeed stunning, but the beach was packed with people 👫🌅 Want to take that influencer photo on the famous lounge chairs? You have to buy something to sit there. Went to ARK Bar beach party at night, the fire dance show was amazing, but the cocktail prices made my heart bleed (190 THB per drink) 🔥🍹 Day 2: Ang Thong National Marine Park island hopping Booked a day tour on Trip.com in advance (1800 THB including lunch) 🚤💨 The emerald lagoon looked like a filter, but climbing 500 steps to the top nearly killed me 😵💦 Snorkeling to see tropical fish was super fun, though coral bleaching was quite serious… remember to bring coral-friendly sunscreen! Koh Samui is really suitable for those who want to avoid the busy city, find a place to relax, and find some breathing space. This time I chose Orig Koh Samui Beach Resort Hotel, mainly because it is located on Lamai Beach, the location is quiet enough but not isolated from the outside world, plus the hotel style is classic, clean and tidy environment, good service quality, perfect for family travel or friends relax together. The biggest selling point of the hotel is the Beach Club, which has many parent-child activities, Pilates, stretching, gym, etc. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly, encountering any problems will immediately help solve, service courteous, and can use the App to order to request cleaning or call facilities, save a lot of time. In terms of rooms, I sincerely recommend choosing the sea view or pool access room type, the space is large and clean, the design is textured enough, stay for a few days will not be cramped. Some residents said some of the amenities needed improvement, such as sometimes the rooms were not in stable condition and the front desk had a chance to be busy, but basically most guests were satisfied with the service. The hotel's exterior and architecture are simple and Western-style. The whole resort is quite exotic. If the weather is good, you can take some beautiful photos here. The Outrigger Hotel in Koh Samui is just across the road from the beach, so there's a beach club called Edgewater Beach Club where you can eat while swimming or playing in the water.
