Pink Dolphins at Khanom, Nakhon Si Thammarat

After arriving at Khanom beach , one must head to a day trip from Laem Prathab. The local village men will take you in a beautiful journey to see the pink dolphins across Domsak pier. You can rent a boat for 1200 bhat. Maximum number of people on a boat can range between5-7. It is better to go in larger groups or as a part of a group. They take you through deep waters , and the trip lasts for around 2-2.5 hours. The pink dolphins also known as a the humpback are a rare sight, but we were able to see them jump at a considerable distance. An interesting fact is the color of dolphin changes due to the age. The newborns are dark grey and their color changes to white or pink as they grow up. Tips before going : Hat and Sunscreen is a must. Avoid going during the monsoon season. Hidden away in Nakhon Si Thammarath , is a place called Khanom. Over this weekend I travelled to Khanom , and stayed there for a night. Khanom is an hour’s drive from Surat Thani , making it highly popular amongst the local expats. Catering to those expats is this cafe called “Frankies Cafe”. It serves a variety of western food, including a bunch of sandwiches , baguettes, croissants and cookies. It’s pocket friendly and their coffee is great and you can just sit and chill there. Ban Sivilaiz Resort is another place that impressed us a lot. It's a beachfront accommodation, where you can see the sea right after opening the door. Our room was next to the swimming pool, allowing us to swim while enjoying the sea view, which was extremely delightful. The accommodation is not expensive at all. The room we booked was 2000++ THB, accommodating 2 people with an extra bed for 600 THB, including breakfast. We booked through the Trip app. The accommodation is great, with a quiet atmosphere, perfect for couples or families. 🕰️Operating hours: Check-in at 14:00, Check-out at 11:00 🏖️Environment/Facilities: Convenient parking available 📍Address: Nai Plao-Kho Khao Subdistrict, Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Khao Wang Thong Cave

Located 77 kilometers from the city, Khao Wang Thong Cave is one of the natural wonders of Nakhon Si Thammarat province. Inside the cave, there are several chambers of varying sizes, each adorned with unique stalactites and stalagmites. Marvel at the natural sculptures formed by these stalactites and stalagmites, which come in various shapes. Some resemble pagodas, others look like waterfalls, and some have a scaly texture like fish skin or custard apple. There are even formations that resemble basins, limited only by your imagination. Khao Wang Thong Cave is a limestone cave.

The park is located on a hill, not sure if you can go down to swim 🌊🌧 Camping at Khanom Beach-South Sea Islands National Park, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province There is a camping area on the cliff by the sea, the atmosphere is very good, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The sea view is beautiful, and the coastal road is also extremely beautiful 💚🍃

Na Dan Beach is a very long beach in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Along the beach, there are hotels and resorts lined up, but there are several public beach entrances. This time we went during a period of very strong winds and waves, so we couldn't swim. The sand isn't very fine, and some of the sand is covered with shells. This beach is more suitable for walking than swimming.

Aava Resort and Spa Khanom Thailand

After leaving Koh Samui we took the ferry back to Donsak and made our way to Aava Resort and Spa. We arrived and were greeted with a lovely Thai welcome and booked in with ease. The room was spacious with a great big shower room and oh what a lovely shower it was. The room has a small outside seating area. We booked breakfast in with pur package and it did not disappoint at all. The view from the restaurant is a pure ocean view and what a way to wake up and have breakfast. A fabulous find for a few days doing absolutely nothing.
