Banchan Temple
Wat Ban Chan is located in Tambon Chan, Amphoe Kanthararom, Si Sa Ket Province. It is a famous temple that is well-known among the general public because this temple used to be the place of residence of "Luang Pu Mun Thitsilo". Even though Luang Pu Mun has passed away for a long time, his venerable conduct makes the public still visit to pay homage. Inside Wat Ban Chan, there are various buildings such as a monk's hut, a chapel, and a temple, which are used for religious ceremonies and to accommodate those who come to make merit and pay homage to the statue of Luang Pu Mun. Luang Pu Mun was born on Thursday, the fifth lunar month, B.E. 2437. He was ordained and given the name "Thitsilo", which means one who has firm morality. After staying at Wat Ban Chan, he studied various subjects and letters, both Thai and Khmer. Then he went on a pilgrimage to various places and studied magic with many famous monks almost all over the country, including the North, Northeast, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. In addition, Luang Pu Mun also Devoted to Buddhism until in 2003, Luang Pu Mun passed away at the age of 109 and his body was placed in a glass coffin without any decomposition, creating a miracle for devotees throughout the country.
