I traveled from Chengdu by high-speed train to Huanglong Jiuzhaigou Station and then took a bus to the front of the park for another 2 hours. On the first day, I stayed at a hotel in front of the park. Then the next morning, I went to the park. Jiuzhaigou Park is large and divided into 2 Y-shaped routes. ① The temperature difference between morning and evening in Jiuzhai Valley is huge. It's below zero in the morning, but it can reach 10°C when the sun comes out at noon.
② You don't need to bring medicine for altitude sickness. The altitude in Jiuzhai Valley is not high, so you won't usually get altitude sickness. You can also get oxygen in the scenic area.

Before coming to Jiuzhai Valley, I had only heard from others that it was a tourist destination that people longed for. However, when I actually set foot on this land, I deeply realized that the shock that hits the soul can only be felt by personal experience. At this moment, Jiuzhai Valley is at the peak of the colorful forest season. The trees all over the mountains seem to have been carefully colored by nature, the magical painter, and intertwined into a colorful and beautiful picture. Every leaf is like a bright gem, red like fire, yellow like gold, and green like jade. They complement each other and form this beautiful scenery, making people linger.

Here, I will share two ways to avoid the crowds:
✅Method 1: Timing is very important. You can choose to enter the park when it just opens and become one of the first visitors, so you can enjoy a relatively quiet atmosphere. Or choose to enter the park around 9 am, when you can usually cleverly avoid most of the tour groups and avoid the trouble of being crowded during the tour.
✅Method 2: Try the reverse tour strategy, which will give you a unique experience. The morning tour route is as follows: Take the sightseeing bus from the mouth of the valley, get off at the Nuorilang Center, transfer to other vehicles, and then start the wonderful tour. First, arrive at Rhino Lake, where the water is clear and reflects the colorful trees around, like a huge mirror, integrating the beauty of heaven and earth. Then come to Tiger Lake, the scenery of Tiger Lake is unique, and its unique charm will make you stop and appreciate it. Next is Spark Lake, where the sunlight shines on the lake, sparkling, like sparks jumping, lively and wonderful. Then go to Double Dragon Lake, which is named after two calcium carbonate dikes that resemble two dragons. Here you can feel the magic of nature. Chengdu 2h high-speed rail direct to the Tibetan and Qiang secret realm under the snow mountain
Second visit to Jiuzhai, don't want to be a travel commando. Npy booked the Indigo hotel, which is worth it! Rich Tibetan and Qiang style, with eagle 🦅 totems and Tibetan cultural elements everywhere. There is also a warm Tibetan welcome ceremony upon check-in, providing an immersive experience.
🏔️ The hotel is located in Zhongchagou, the 'back garden of Jiuzhai,' which means the place where the eagle 🦅 lands in Tibetan. It is about a 20-minute drive from the scenic area, with a free shuttle bus (around 8:20) every day. The butler will arrange the itinerary and travel route map 🗺️ in advance. Friendly staff 🥰.

Departing from Chengdu by high-speed rail🚅
The earliest train is at 6:45 AM, and the latest one is at 6:36 PM. Ticket prices range from 120 to 140 yuan.
So, if we go on the weekend and stay for just two days, we will have enough time.
Upon arriving at Jiuzhai Huanglong High-Speed Rail Station, you will be in Chuanzhusi. From there, it takes only an hour and a half by car🚌 to reach Jiuzhaigou, which is very convenient👍. If you take a small car, it might be even faster.
The bus ticket costs just a few dozen yuan, and for less than 200 yuan, you can reach Jiuzhaigou.
🟣Songpan Ancient City can also be explored for a day, which is ideal for those with more time, as well as Chuanzhusi.
If you take the morning high-speed rail to Jiuzhaigou, entering the park on the same day is no problem. You can tour for about six hours, which is enough to see everything.
🟢You can also visit the Huanglong Scenic Area on the same day. Remember to buy a sightseeing bus ticket in advance; otherwise, you will have to walk for an hour to get up there, which can increase altitude sickness. When touring Huanglong, you must walk down because the scenery is beautiful and not to be missed. So, the tour of Huanglong Scenic Area takes about four hours. Then, take a small car to Jiuzhaigou, which takes about an hour and a half. In the evening, you can stroll around Jiuzhaigou and have a yak meat hot pot.
The next day, you can spend the whole day touring Jiuzhaigou.
Touring Jiuzhaigou takes a full day. Enter the park at 9:00 AM: it is recommended to bring your own food, such as self-heating rice and bread🥖. Be sure to prepare beautiful clothes for taking nice photos.
The main route for touring Jiuzhaigou is the right line, which has the most attractions. Famous spots like Wuhua Hai, Pearl Beach, and Panda Lake are all on this side.
I toured for about six hours, entering the park at 9:00 AM and leaving at 4:00 PM. You can take the 18:18 train back to Chengdu.
The latest train from Jiuzhaigou to Chengdu is at 9:19 PM, arriving at Chengdu East Station at 11:00 PM.
So, there is no need to worry; two days are enough to tour Jiuzhaigou and then the Huanglong Scenic Area.
🟣Accommodation: It is recommended to stay at the mouth of the valley or halfway up the mountain, which is relatively quieter and convenient for visiting Jiuzhaigou.
During the day, Jiuzhaigou is almost empty as everyone goes into the scenic area. The most beautiful scenery is inside the park, and the 280 yuan ticket is well worth it.
At night, there are many people strolling by the river, which is very relaxing.
There are many Sichuan restaurants in the scenic area, as well as yak meat soup pots. These are the two main types of food available.
There are also a few hot pot restaurants.
Of course, if you have plenty of time, you can explore each station along the high-speed rail. Notable stops include Sanxingdui, Mianzhu, and Maoxian (where you can see the ancient Qiang city of China, Jiuding Mountain, and Diexi Songpinggou Scenic Area). On the 'Jiurou Road' from Jiuzhaigou to Ruoergai, after passing through the '28 Bends' of the Heavenly Road, if you rush to the Ruoergai Grassland, you will miss this jelly pool hidden in the deep mountains beside Jiuzhaigou.
This place is called Nengensangcuo (Fairy Pool), which has both the water of Jiuzhaigou and the calcium of Huanglong, concentrated and refined. Not many people know about it, and the number of tourists is only one-tenth of Jiuzhaigou, making the actual experience better, always giving a feeling of having the place to yourself. Because there are few people and beautiful scenery, it is truly a fairyland for photography.
How to get there?
If you are coming from the direction of Jiuzhaigou, navigate to Fairy Pool. It is less than 76 kilometers by car, taking less than 2 hours. Pay attention to the '28 Bends' on the Jiurou Road, reduce your speed, and do not drive into the opposite lane.
