Stayed at Life Hotel in Jingxi, don’t want to go back to the city
🏔️ Jingxi, a 22℃ hidden paradise on the China-Vietnam border
Who understands, family! After spending three days in Jingxi, I really don’t want to return to the city! The summer here is only 22℃, surrounded by mountains and rivers every day, falling asleep to the sound of waterfalls, waking up to birdsong—this life is truly wonderful!
🌿 Jingxi, a more beautiful karst landscape secret than Guilin
Many people know Guilin but not Jingxi. Here you’ll find karst peak forests that rival Guilin’s, more stunning waterfalls, quieter ancient towns, yet tourists are only a tenth of Guilin’s, and costs are half!
June is the most beautiful time in Jingxi. The waterfalls are full during the flood season, rice fields are lush green, lotus flowers bloom, and the average temperature is 22℃—truly a summer paradise!
✨ Jingxi’s hidden gems revealed
【Quyang Lake Loop】
This is my favorite place in Jingxi! Called the "Little Erhai Lake of Guangxi," it’s truly beautiful! Karst peak forests are scattered like stars across the lake, the water is clear and emerald green, reflecting the mountains and blue sky with white clouds—like a landscape painting!
Be sure to rent an electric bike to circle the lake! The 30 km lakeside road has few cars and stunning scenery. Ride a bit, stop to take photos of beautiful views, feel the lake breeze, and enjoy the mountain and water scenery—so relaxing!
You can also take a boat tour for 20 yuan per person, about an hour, to experience Quyang Lake’s beauty up close. There are many small islands on the lake inhabited by fishermen, full of life.
【Aibu Waterfall Group】
This place is a real treasure! Completely free and very few people! The three-tiered waterfalls cascade with great drops, very spectacular! Surrounded by lush green rice fields and karst peak forests, the pastoral scenery is perfect!
When we visited, we were the only ones at the waterfall, having it all to ourselves! Sitting on the rocks by the waterfall, listening to the water, feeling the breeze—super cool and I really didn’t want to leave.
【Shijiudu Bridge】
A place with no tourists at all! A small river with many stepping stones, rice fields and karst peak forests on both sides—so beautiful! You can wade in the water; it’s ice-cold and very comfortable. The green rice fields in June make for amazing photos, full of Japanese-style vibes!
【Daxing Scenery】
On the road from Jingxi to Shuolong, you pass through Daxing, where the highway is flanked by karst peak forests and rice fields—like being inside a painting! Many call it "Little Guilin of Guangxi," and it’s no exaggeration! Stop to take photos, every shot looks like a masterpiece!
【Erlang Waterfall】
Another free hidden waterfall! Though not large, the water is super clear, surrounded by dense forest, very cool. There’s a pool under the waterfall where you can wade and swim—perfect for summer!
🌄 Slow life in Jingxi
In Jingxi, there’s no need to rush to see sights. Sleep in naturally, then leisurely go out to explore. When tired, come back to rest—that’s what a vacation should be.
In the morning, stroll by Equan, watch the morning mist, see fishermen fishing, breathe fresh air, and feel refreshed.
In the late morning, visit the canyon to see waterfalls, walk in the primeval forest, listen to streams and birds, and enjoy nature’s beauty.
At noon, find a farmhouse restaurant to eat local dishes—spring water fish, native chicken soup, fresh vegetables—all pure natural flavors.
In the afternoon, circle Quyang Lake or find a café in the ancient town to sit and daydream while enjoying the view.
At dusk, watch the sunset at Equan, see the golden light shimmer on the water—breathtakingly beautiful.
At night, stroll the night market in Jinxiu Ancient Town, try local snacks, enjoy the night view, and experience Zhuang ethnic nightlife.
This slow-paced life is truly healing. After staying long in the city, spending a few days here relaxes your body and mind.
🍃 Moments that touched me
At Equan, I saw an old grandpa fishing, sitting on the Fifteen-Arch Bridge with the sunset and karst peaks behind him—such a beautiful scene, like a landscape painting.
At Tongling Grand Canyon, standing under the 188-meter waterfall, mist spraying on my face, sunlight forming a rainbow through the mist—nature is truly magical.
At Quyang Lake Loop, riding to a deserted spot, sitting by the lake, watching the water and mountains, listening to the wind and birds—at that moment, all worries vanished.
At Jiuzhou Ancient Town, watching an old lady make embroidered balls with skillful hands; soon a beautiful ball was done. She warmly explained the culture of embroidered balls and offered us her homemade sour pickles—her simple hospitality was very touching.
