Maisan Provincial Parkin Jeollabuk Provinc
South Korea has plenty of exciting places to offer spread across the length and breadth of the country. A mix of both natural and artificial attractions diversify the go-to list for travel-loving visitors. I have been to many good places here in Korea during my stay. Yet there are still many missing dots left to be connected. Last weekend I visited Maisan Provinicial Park with family. The place is a lovely spot which has everything to offer for a day-long trip. The place is famous for stone towers which have been erected (not constructed with cement or any modern sonstruction aid) more than 100 years ago and are still standing. Also there is a Budhist temple here where people come and pay their respect.
Jinan Tapsa Temple
#koreatrip
Tapsa Temple, located in Jinan, Jeonbuk, is a unique historical site famous for its stone pagodas. The temple complex features over 80 stone pagodas built by a single monk, which are scattered throughout the mountain. The site is serene, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, and is a place of spiritual retreat. Visitors can hike up to the temple and explore the peaceful surroundings, while learning about the significance of the stone structures, which are said to have been built as a form of prayer and devotion. It’s a perfect place for both nature and history lovers.
Mai San Tabsa
Mai San Tabsa is a place of stunning natural and historical beauty. When I arrived there, I was amazed by the Tabsa Tower and the picturesque surroundings. Walking along the extended path gave me the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and explore temples and relics that exude the scent of the past. Especially during sunrise or sunset, the scenery reaches the pinnacle of splendor. The serene atmosphere and the harmony of nature and culture made this visit an unforgettable experience. 🌄🌳⛩️ The place is truly beautiful.
Maisan Provincial Park
Maisan Provincial Park, nestled in the heart of Jeollabuk-do province, South Korea, is a breathtaking natural wonder that captivates visitors with its rugged beauty and cultural significance. This majestic park is home to towering rock formations, lush forests, and serene temples, making it a cherished destination for nature enthusiasts and spiritual seekers alike.
During the spring season, Maisan Provincial Park transforms into a scene of unparalleled beauty as cherry blossoms blanket the landscape in a sea of pink and white hues. The delicate blooms add a touch of enchantment to the park's already stunning scenery, creating a magical atmosphere that beckons visitors to explore its wonders.
Maisan Provincial Park is not only renowned for its natural splendor but also for its rich cultural heritage. The park is home to several historic temples, including Tapsa Temple, known for its unique stone pagodas. Visitors can immerse themselves in the park's serene ambiance, taking in the sights and sounds of nature while discovering the centuries-old traditions that have shaped this revered landscape.
Maisan Provincial Park In Autumn Season
#fallingseason
Maisan is a 686m mountain in Jinan. It gets its name from its resemblance to horse ears. In Korean, "ma" is horse and "!" is ear. "San" is mountain. The name of the tallest peak changes based on the season. In spring it is called Dotadaebong. In summer, it is called Yonggakbong. In Fall, it is Maibong. Finally, in winter, it is called Munilbong. In addition to the unique shape of the mountain, the most popular temple, Tapsa, is also strange. It's beautiful, but I didn't have time to visit there today. These are come pictures from driving around the mountain area. For locations is 255, Maisan-ro, Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do.
Beautiful Autumn Museum of World Scissors
#fallingseason
You may be interested in the scissor museum in Jinan. They claim to be the only scissors museum in the world. The museum is also located at the base of Maisan Mountain and there are trails that lead from the museum into the mountain. There are many scissors and lots of information to take in. Here are some things I learned. The oldest scissors found were sheep sheers from Greece that date to around 1000BC. There are ornate stork scissors used for cutting umbilical cords. The smallest pair of scissors was made by R. Smith Cutler in 1866 and are merely 17mm in length.
If you like this type of museum, you may also be interested in the pencil museum in Donghae or the textbook museum in Sejong.
Beautiful Autumn View of Unilambanilam

In the mountains of Jinan Country, near the beautiful Yedang Reservoir, there is a valley with huge boulders in the river. This was my first time crossing the bridge and I regretted it. My fear of heights definitely kicked in. So, not many pictures from when I was crossing.
One of the rock formations is called the Great Buddha Rock because there is a rock on top of another rock in a similar manor to buddha statues. It is 40 in height.
Because of the deep valley, you should go there at midday.
Even at 2pm, you can see the shadows were taking over.
You used to be able to get down to the river and take a swim, but with the recent construction, they have sealed off that entrance.
For locations is Jucheon-myeon, Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do.
