Jakarta’s memories
Jakarta > Laoag: How to Spend 4 Days Solo (ft. GDragon Concert Vibes!) 🌞🤘
This trip took me from urban Jakarta to sunny Laoag, plus a GDragon concert for the playlist of my life. Laoag’s a gem: western-style old buildings, modern architecture, and major chill energy.
Top Spots to Visit in Laoag:
1. Sinking Bell Tower (Gen. Luna St, open daily 6am–7pm): Snap iconic photos of this ancient tower actually sinking into the ground! Go early for that soft morning light.
2. Laoag City Hall (J.P. Rizal St, open Mon-Fri 8am–5pm): The classic facade pops on sunny days—perfect for your IG stories.
3. Museo Ilocos Norte (Gen. Luna St, open Tue-Sun 9am–5pm): See rich heritage vibes and quirky exhibits. Tip: There’s A/C—worth it on humid days.
4. La Tabacalera Ilocano Lifestyle Center (Gen. Luna St, open daily, 10am–8pm): Best spot for western-style balconies, modern shops, and local eats!
Personal Tips:
- Go for a morning walk; Laoag has gorgeous light for pics, especially if you love architecture.
- Pack light—skip bulky gear. You can get almost everything in local shops if you forgot anything.
- Concert days = chill days! Hydrate, bring a snack (local empanadas are 🔥), and arrive early for good seats.
Getting Around:
Try tricycles for quick hops or rent a scooter for max freedom. Google Maps works fine here (offline mode FTW).
Food:
Must-eat: Ilocos empanada, bagnet (crispy pork), and Laoag longganisa at small stalls near Laoag Plaza.
Useful Notes:
Cash is king! Bring a little extra, but there are ATMs in most central spots. June is hot with scattered showers; sunscreen is a must.

The Mysterious Indonesia: The Temple of Jakarta
As soon as I saw this church⛪️, the song "Aurora" by Angela Zhang popped into my head. Who else gets it?
Jakarta Cathedral💓
A very classic 19th-century Neo-Gothic building!
When we went in, there was a mass happening.
We didn’t know… the staff actually just let us in directly.
Seeing everyone praying inside made us even more nervous😭
But seeing hundreds of people praying at the same time for the first time🙏 was truly amazing.
After the mass ended, seeing everyone taking photos made us feel comfortable enough to take a few shots ourselves.
The architecture is beautiful! I recommend spending a few hours to check it out.
PS: It gets dark in Jakarta after 5 PM, so if you want to capture daytime scenes, be sure to head out early.
📍 Gereja Katedral Jakarta
Address: Jl. Katedral No.7B, Ps. Baru, Kecamatan Sawah Besar, Kota Jakarta Pusat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 10710, Indonesia

Jakarta Cathedral Church
A Gothic church filled with history and tranquility 🕍✨
This time in Jakarta, I made a special trip to this century-old church. Besides the building itself having an amazing atmosphere, there is actually a small museum inside!
The museum is not large, but it houses many historical artifacts related to the development of Catholicism in Indonesia, along with some exquisite sacred vessels on display. After visiting, you can better feel the story behind this church.
The church itself is perfect for photography 📸, whether it’s the windows, wooden doors, or stone pillars, every detail feels like a journey back to Europe.
📷 Outfit suggestion: Vintage minimalist style works great here~
🕰 Recommended to visit on weekdays when it’s quieter and you can take photos more comfortably.

Jakarta’s newest japanese cafe! found the fluffiest roll cake?!!!
Guess what I just found?!! The most magical little spot that feels like it was transported straight from Tokyo! And the star of the show... their incredible roll cake! 🍰
I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the FLUFFIEST I've ever tasted. It was like cutting into a sweet, jiggly cloud! So light, so airy, and not too sweet. An absolute must-try!
Have you been yet? You need to run, don't walk! 🏃♀️

Jakarta 2 days and 1 night
From Bandung, we rented a van with a driver to Jakarta, which took about 2.5 hours. Here are some interesting places to visit:
1. Monas, the National Monument. You can climb to the top for a panoramic view. The entrance fee is 24k.
2. Kota Tua, the old town, is full of European architecture and a walking square.
3. The National Museum is located near Monas, within walking distance. The entrance fee is 50k. Cash is not accepted.
4. Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia, Indonesia's largest shopping malls, with restaurants and supermarkets inside.
In short, it's a city similar to Bangkok, with quite a bit of traffic. Grab is the most convenient way to get around.

Dining at one of the best steakhouse at Jakarta
#mytraveldiary
We were having meetings for several days and we decide to dine at ome of the steakhouse. As such, we went to this restaurant called El Professor, situated at North Jakarta. They serve different kinds of beef and even Wagyu and Angus beef, and for those who do not fancy beef, you can also opt for their salmon and prawn option. There are also many kinds of side dish available, and they tasted excellently well. The meat is very tender and cooked with perfection, and the service is also excellent. I really loved the atmosphere and will go there again.

Jakarta: A City That Defied My Expectations
My trip to Jakarta was truly impressive. The hotel I stayed at was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing environment. Food delivery in the city was incredibly convenient, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The only minor downside was the transportation system, which requires some patience for commuting. However, the airport was a pleasant surprise—spacious, modern, and well-equipped. The local people were warm and friendly, always willing to help, which added a touch of warmth and joy to the journey.
