Our Spontaneous Island Hopping and Boat Adventure to the Pakleni Islands

We took a ferry from Split to Hvar and, on a whim, decided to rent a boat from a local Croatian guy. None of us had any experience driving a boat, but the owner was super cool and laid-back. He gave us a quick demo on how to start the engine and navigate, then, with absolute confidence, rented the boat to us. His only advice was to avoid hitting the yachts, as they were expensive. Armed with a simple map, we set off toward Pakleni Islands, an archipelago known for its pristine beaches, secluded coves, and crystal-clear waters. It was an incredible feeling to be in control of the boat, exploring the hidden bays and small islets at our own pace. We anchored near Palmizana, where we swam in the turquoise water and relaxed on the beach, surrounded by the scent of pine trees and the sound of gentle waves. The freedom of the open sea, the beauty of Pakleni, and the thrill of driving the boat ourselves made for a truly unforgettable adventure.
