A few months ago, my friend and I explored the Guoliang Tunnel in The Wanxian Mountains, also known as one of China's most dangerous roads. One of the reasons it holds this title is because of the way it was built. The 2 km tunnel was hand- carved by local mountain villagers, many of whom lost their lives working on this "sky ladder". After 5 years of construction and 4000 hammers, this road now links the Guoliang village to the outside world. After exploring the Bali Gou scenic area, we used the same ticket to take the shuttle bus to the Tian Jie mountain area. The drive up the extremely steep and narrow mountain road was terrifyingly awesome, with jaw dropping views that I couldn’t capture. Experience magical mountains and waterfalls at Baligou Scenic Area

We took the train to Xinxiang to spend a day in Baligou Scenic Area, which is located at the Southern foot of the Taihang Mountains in Central China. This is a 5A attraction and considering we visited on a holiday, it was refreshingly quiet. Getting There - from Xinxiang, the ticket office is around an hour’s drive. E-hailing was about ¥120, but it’s also possible to take a bus from Xinxiang and change in Huixian. 🚖 Attractions - take the shuttle bus to the Bali Gou Mountain transfer gate and walk to the Galaxy waterfall, stopping at the other scenic spots along the way. The scenery is beautiful! 🏞️ With the entrance ticket, you can also access the Jiu Lian mountain and Tian Jie mountain - recommended to start early and spend 2 days to see all three areas. 💰Average Price per Person: The entrance ticket cost about ¥160 including the buses. #100waysoftravel #outdooradventures

Parking is CNY10 per day. 1. Guoliang Village (Cliff Road) Route: Take the scenic area bus from the Visitor Center (included in the ticket price) for about 15 minutes to the entrance of the "Cliff Corridor" (green route in Figure 11). Start exploring the "Cliff Corridor", which is about 1,200 meters long and takes about 30 minutes to walk. The exit is Guoliang Village. At this point, there are two routes to choose from: ① One is Guoliang Village Entrance--2km--Fortress--1km--Cliff Stairway; ② One is Guoliang Village--1km--Observation Deck. I chose route ②, which takes about 30 minutes. 🌈 After exploring Guoliang Village, you can walk back to the entrance of the "Cliff Corridor" and take the scenic area bus (included in the ticket price) to Nanping. If you don't want to walk back, you can take the scenic area bus from the "Observation Deck" to Nanping for CNY30. 2. Nanping Scenic Area: Enjoy the mountain and water scenery, two routes to choose from: ① Hiking: Nanping Scenic Area Entrance--1.5km--Black Dragon Pool Waterfall--1km--Danfen. This hiking route is relatively flat in the first half and steeper in the second half, but it doesn't feel tiring overall. ② Take the scenic area bus (CNY30): Take the scenic area bus directly from the entrance of Nanping Scenic Area to the entrance of "Danfen", which takes about 15-20 minutes. Start exploring the downhill route. 3. Food and drink: There are many farmhouses and guesthouses in Guoliang Village, where you can eat and stay.

The beautiful Bali Valley is less than 2 hours away from Xinxiang! There aren't many paths to walk , making it perfect for lazy people. There are sightseeing cars in the scenic area, so if you get tired, just wave your hand and you can get on the car. Walking slowly on the mountain road is really healing , especially with the recent suitable weather, it's not too sunny either. The Tianhe Waterfall in Bali Valley is incredibly beautiful right now , no deception!!! Highly recommend coming to check in! The most surprising thing is that there is an especially beautiful hotel in the Bali Valley scenic area , and it even has an infinity pool. Lying down and enjoying the breeze at night is just too wonderful .

Park the car in the P1 or P2 parking lot next to the visitor center. Because we booked a homestay in the scenic area, the housekeeper will help transport the luggage to the homestay at the reception center. ‼️ Enter the park at the Grand Canyon ticket gate with the ticket, then transfer to the scenic bus for about half an hour to reach the Qiba Transfer Area, look up to see the cliffs, and continue to take the sightseeing bus for 10 minutes to reach the shallow beach and fish scale dam of the Grand Canyon scenic area. Pass through the tunnel to take the elevator to Yatianxia. Because we stayed in the homestay in the scenic area, we chose to play the thrilling projects of Yatianxia the next day. Three-Day Two-Night Hiking Diary in South Taihang

⛰️Majestic Taihang stretches for 800 miles, with a history spanning 2,000 years. There are simply too many hikers. Strongly recommend traveling off-peak. We hiked from May 3rd to May 5th during the Labor Day holiday, and there were significantly fewer people!! 🌟Day 1: Xinxiang Station -- Shuangdi Village -- Mawu Village -- Yixiantian -- Baodu Village 1️⃣ Chartered a car from Xinxiang Station to Shuangdi Village, contacted the South Taihang 795 fleet. The driver was very nice and took us to have a special breakfast (five yuan for spicy soup and fried dough sticks to fill up). For those with heavy gear, you can contact in advance to buy gas canisters. We passed several viewing platforms, and the driver stopped for us to take photos. (Baquan Grand Canyon is truly stunning) 2️⃣ From Shuangdi Village to Mawu Village, you will pass through the Taxus Grand Canyon. There is no ascent, but the rocky road is easy to twist your ankle, so be careful of slipping and don't fall into the water. During the rainy season, you can bring water shoes. 3️⃣ From Taxus Grand Canyon to Mawu Village is a 4km mountain road with a 700m ascent. The slope is quite steep, and there is no supply along the way before reaching Mawu Village. The latter part has a 3km cement road, and you can take a car for 10 yuan directly to Mawu Village. 4️⃣ Be very careful at Yixiantian. The road down to the canyon is very narrow and dangerous. On the day we went, someone fell down. 5️⃣ Accommodation in Baodu Village is 40 yuan per person including breakfast. You can contact the homestay in advance for a whole lamb feast 🐑 🌟Day 2: Baodu -- Laolongkou -- Xilian Temple -- Unlit Tunnel -- Zhanggou 1️⃣ Go to Laolongkou at five o'clock to watch the sunrise! Once you climb up, you will reach the entrance of the Unlit Tunnel. You can also take a car through the Unlit Tunnel for 15 yuan per person. You can ask the driver to carry your heavy gear and drop it off before Zhanggou, while you experience the tunnel with a headlamp and take cool photos. 3️⃣ Passing through Xiyagou, you will reach Zhanggou. Remember to take the small road out, otherwise, you will have to pay 100 yuan. There are very obvious road signs along the way. 4️⃣ Strongly recommend staying in Zhanggou! Who wouldn't appreciate a double room with hot showers and air conditioning!! 🌟Day 3: Zhanggou -- Shiziling -- Wangmangling -- Nanping End The famous double ridge crossing of South Taihang is here, but really don't stay overnight at Shiziling. Even if we get up early on the third day to see the sea of clouds, we met a very cute border collie on the ladder to Zhanggou. The third day is strongly recommended to bring knee pads!!! 🎡Actually, South Taihang is not suitable for heavy gear. Before visiting Baoquan, I always thought it was just an ordinary 4A-level scenic spot. It was only after visiting Baoquan that I realized its unique and extraordinary aspects. Despite the incident during this year's May Day holiday where tourists had to walk down the mountain, you can still feel the management's capability and dedication through the tour. The biggest impression from this experience is that Baoquan is very approachable. Relying on the majestic Taihang Mountains, there are many mountain and water scenic spots in Henan, including some 5A-level ones. Firstly, in terms of ticket prices, Baoquan Scenic Area has differentiated between its Grand Canyon and Cliff World areas, allowing tourists to buy tickets based on their actual needs. Most other scenic spots offer a general ticket for multiple areas, bundling them together regardless of whether you visit all of them or not. Secondly, Baoquan's food street is really large, offering plenty of choices. This allows you to rest and eat well while touring. Wishing Baoquan all the best.

We joined a tour group for 138 yuan per person (including Yatianxia and the Grand Canyon), which was quite convenient. We departed from Zijingshan Metro Station at 7 am sharp to Baquan, and the journey took a little over two hours ! Upon arrival, we took the scenic area bus to the cable car station, then took the aerial tramway (cable car) up the mountain . After about two hours on the mountain, we reached the glass sightseeing platform (free; shoe covers 2 ), the cliff swing (free), high-altitude rock climbing (88 for a short experience, 166 for a longer and more thrilling experience), and bungee jumping (220 , insurance 10 ). We took the scenic area sightseeing car (free) to the elevator entrance, took the elevator down to the Grand Canyon, and as soon as we exited the elevator, we saw the super beautiful green lake ! We walked directly to the right for about half an hour to reach the tulip flower sea , which was quite beautiful and great for photos. The sight of flowers and the lake put us in a very good mood ! Afterwards, there were signs guiding us to take the scenic area bus down the mountain. It took about 10 minutes to walk from the tulip flower sea, and then we reached 🅿️3 parking lot. At 🅿️5, we took the tour bus back to Zhengzhou, which took a little over two hours ! Overall, I highly recommend it. We strolled leisurely through the Yatianxia scenic area for over four hours , taking photos, eating, and drinking. It was quite enjoyable, and playing in the water during summer is also very fun .
