the 1 & only biggest night market in Hualien~
Dongdaemun Night Market (東大門夜市) is the biggest night market in Hualien City due to their combination of three different night markets into one!
There are many stores in this night market which includes food stores such as dumplings, potato balls, scallion pancake and etc as well as game stations. You can easily find and get anything here!
Dongdaemun night market consists of another street called Aboriginal Street (原住民一条街) where they sell aboriginal food!
We tried one of the aboriginal food store - 阿妹煮which was recommended by the Hualien locals and turned out to be better than we expected!
It is an awesome night market to spend your time at doing your shopping, snacking, eating as well as playing games here in Hualien!

YUMMY Dinner at Oops Coffee Cafe in Hualien!
Oops Coffee (Oops驚奇咖) is a cafe that serves western cuisine that is located in Hualien City.
We were looking for a place to have our dinner and chanced upon this on Google map. We decided to give it a try and to our surprise, the food here from the soup, main dishes, dessert to drinks were extremely delicious!
However, do take note that this cafe closes rather early at 9pm so if you are going for your dinner, do head down earlier. It took quite sometime for our food to be served as well, approximately 30 minutes for our main dishes.
Address: No. 15號, Xuanyuan Rd, Hualien City, Hualien County, Taiwan 970

Hualien Walking Street
#familytrips2024
We were strolling in Hualien Walking Street (Jiu Tie Dao Xing) during our family holiday trip in Taiwan. We had some free time at night and thus decided to have a stroll over here after our meals. It was an old railway walkway with shops around selling all kinds of souvenirs. If you wanna chill, there were also quite a few nice cafes around.
In 2024, I hope to bring my family to similar walking streets in Vietnam.

很大自然,風景很美
If you only have a few days in Taiwan and you want to go somewhere outside of Taipei, you should definitely go to Taroko Gorge. On an island full of mountains, rain forests, beaches, and abounding natural beauty, Taroko Gorge might just take the top spot as the most beautiful scenic area in Taiwan.
Taroko National Park is well known for its amazing marble cliffs and canyons carved out by the Liwu River. It is also a popular spot for hiking, rafting, and river tracing. If you have the time, come to the East coast and see it. If you don't have time, then make some time!
When to visit?
Hualien is great year round, but it can get a little hot in the summer, and Typhoon season and heavy rain season lasts from about May to October. If you are afraid of the heat and rain then you can visit during winter when the temperatures are mild and the climate is usually dryer
