Trip to the Glacier 🚗
#outdooradventures
My trip to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in Iceland was absolutely surreal! 🌊 Located about 5 hours from Reykjavík, it’s a journey through otherworldly landscapes before you arrive at this incredible glacier lake. There’s no entrance fee, and you can park right next to the lagoon. Watching the massive icebergs drift lazily on the water with the Vatnajökull Glacier in the background felt like something out of a dream. The ice has this dazzling blue color, especially when the sun hits it just right!
I highly recommend taking a boat tour, which gets you up close to the icebergs and seals swimming nearby! 🛶 It costs around €40-50, but totally worth it to experience the glacier’s majesty up close. Just standing there, watching these ancient chunks of ice float by, you feel the power and beauty of nature. I also visited Diamond Beach, right across the road, where smaller icebergs wash up on the black sand. The contrast between the ice and sand is stunning! 💎
Nearby attractions include Skaftafell National Park, perfect for hiking lovers, and Svartifoss Waterfall, which has those iconic basalt columns. If you're looking for a magical and unique experience in Iceland, Jökulsárlón is a must-see!

Diamond Beach in Iceland: A Unique and Stunning Tourist Destination
This place is so unique and wonderful. I pay tribute to the natural beauty here. This is a black sand beach with large chunks of ice that have floated from the melting Jökulsárlón glacier. When these icebergs are broken into pieces by the waves, it becomes so breathtaking that you can't take your eyes off it.
It's called Diamond Beach because when sunlight and light hit these ice chunks, they sparkle like diamonds. This place is a tourist destination, but it's very quiet.
The beauty of this place is such that you can't guess its magnificence unless you visit. A must-see in Iceland!
The majestic Jokilsarlon 😍

Visiting Jökulsárlón was like stepping into another world! 🌍 This stunning glacier lagoon in southeastern Iceland is a must-see. I got there around mid-morning to catch the light glistening off the icebergs, which float serenely in the deep blue water. There’s no entrance fee, so you can simply drive up, park, and explore. The first sight of those giant ice chunks drifting towards the Atlantic left me speechless. 🧊 The lagoon is surrounded by black sand beaches, and I even spotted some seals playing near the icebergs!
The best part of my visit was taking a boat tour on the lagoon (around 6,500 ISK), which brought me up close to the icebergs. Being out on the water, feeling the cold air, and hearing the ice crack was magical. It was like a scene out of a movie! 🎥 The boat guide was informative, telling us all about the glacier’s history and the formation of the lagoon. Don’t forget to check out Diamond Beach nearby, where icebergs wash up on the black sand shore, glittering like jewels. 💎
Afterward, I drove a bit further to Vatnajökull National Park, where you can see more of the glaciers and take some incredible hikes. The scenery is out of this world, and it really makes you appreciate the raw beauty of Iceland. 🏞️ If you're a fan of nature and unique landscapes, Jökulsárlón should definitely be on your travel list.

Diamond Beach 🇮🇸
#naturalbeauty
During my summer vacation, I had the chance to visit Diamond Beach in Iceland, and it was truly a highlight! 🌋🏖️ Located near Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, this beach is renowned for its stunning, ice-crystal-studded black sand. The entrance is free, which is amazing considering the unique beauty you'll witness here.
The ice chunks, which come from the nearby glacier, glisten like diamonds against the dark volcanic sand, creating a surreal and breathtaking landscape. It’s a photographer’s dream! The contrast of the ice with the roaring Atlantic waves makes for an otherworldly experience.
Nearby, the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon offers even more incredible sights, where you can see massive icebergs floating in the serene lagoon. If you’re up for a bit of adventure, consider taking a boat tour there.
Definitely make time for these spots if you’re exploring Iceland. The natural beauty is simply unforgettable.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon: Stunning Scenery, Tranquil and Healing
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon was the place I was most looking forward to visiting before my trip to Iceland. Despite encountering a hurricane and stormy weather, I finally made it there after many twists and turns. It was absolutely worth it! So healing!! So beautiful!!! The beauty is truly breathtaking at every step, and that's no exaggeration. The tranquility and healing effect of the quiet lake and massive glaciers make you feel the insignificance of humanity and understand the impermanence of life. If you take a boat tour, you can get up close to the ice and seals, navigating through the fallen ice, which is incredibly dreamy.
This is the true meaning of LIVE photos! Iceland is so beautiful that it leaves you speechless
Experiencing the scenery in person 🌋 is far more spectacular than capturing it in photos 📸. LIVE photos can really preserve some of the shock and vibrant life 🌿!
📍 Diamond Beach
Recommendation Index: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is the most shocking landscape for me. My mind was filled with thoughts about how this thing was formed 🤨, how Diamond Beach really has 'diamonds' 💎. The fine, seamless black sand beach is dotted with crystal-clear ice diamonds 🧊, perfect for photos 📷. It's just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful❗️❗️
📝 Tips: Later, I learned that the ice diamonds 💎 are not naturally frozen in the sea but are parts of the Vatnajökull glacier that have broken off, sculpted by seawater, and washed ashore 🏝.
🚗 Transportation: All the sights mentioned below are along Iceland's Route 1, the scenery is really nice, and the route is simple.
📍 Seljalandsfoss
Recommendation Index: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It can be said to be the representative waterfall of Iceland 🇮🇸, a true water curtain cave 💦. When you get close to the waterfall, you can feel the majestic water flow crashing down, the mist hitting your face, it's really shocking❗️
🚗 Transportation: If driving, head southeast from Reykjavik along Route 1 to the Seljalands River, turn left onto Route 249 after crossing the bridge, and you'll be there.
📝 Tips: The parking lot charges a fee. Be sure to wear waterproof clothes, pants, and shoes! 🌂
📍 Skogafoss
Recommendation Index: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
One of the three major waterfalls in the Golden Circle 🔱, this waterfall is also called the 'Rainbow Waterfall' 🌈 because you can often see rainbows when the sun ☀️ is out. It has a fairy-like aura, perfect for photos 🤳! It's also a filming location for many movies 🎬, such as 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' and 'Game of Thrones', where Jon Snow and Daenerys 🐉 kiss at the Northern Waterfall! 💕💕
🚗 Transportation: It's about a 40-minute drive from Seljalandsfoss.
📍 Black Sand Beach
Recommendation Index: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Listed as one of the world's top ten most beautiful beaches by the American 🇺🇸 'Islands Magazine' 🤩, the endless black ◼️ is pure and transparent, silent, lonely, and free. The basalt columns nearby are also very beautiful, it's hard to believe such neat shapes are natural. 😯
🚗 Transportation: Located in the middle of Iceland's south coast, next to the town of Vik.
I hope everyone can go to the places they want to visit, have a pleasant journey!! 💖💖

Non-stop kayaking | Finally rowing to the end of the world, nature taught me
Life is an experiential journey. Your sense of experience is the meaning
Finally, one of the life experience lists, I rowed in the glacier lake of Iceland at the end of the world.
If you also want to bring your own boat to Iceland and kayak in the glacier lake, please receive this practical guide!
Flat Iceland's glacial lakes suitable for boating:
1 Jokulsarlon Glacier Lake: One of the famous scenic spots in Iceland. It is a large glacial lake with large and a lot of floating ice. I row a boat here. It is very convenient to walk a few steps from the parking lot to the lake.
2 Little Glacial Lake Fjallsarlon: relatively small, with fewer tourists. It's close to the glacier, but it's a short walk from the parking lot to the lake.
3 Super niche glacial lake Heinabergslon: very niche, with almost no tourists, can row deep into the ice lake to explore.
Boating equipment: see the picture
Backpacker: #MRS Surveyor Explorer Single
Including boat, chair, backrest, tail fin, inflatable bag, strapping belt, a total of 2380g
The reason why I chose it is that it is light in weight, small in storage capacity, and good-looking in white. I don't play with white water, but only in still water.
Oar: MRS removable carbon paddle 1020g can be disassembled into four sections, which is convenient to put in a suitcase or backpack.
Life jacket: Packa self-inflated life jacket 690g must be brought, wear it when rowing!

Summer at the glacier lake.
Does Iceland have a summer this year?
I haven't worn short sleeves for two days...
I wear a waterproof and warm coat every day
I have to change into a down jacket at night
One day I escaped the gale
One day I avoided the heavy rain
But
Who can stop
The cool wind!
The endless rain
Theoretically speaking
This is the time of summer, and the weather is barely satisfactory

The summer glacier lake may be the best evidence

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is one of the must-visit attractions in southern Iceland. In fact, historically, the glacier lagoon did not exist. It has only formed in recent decades due to the astonishing rate of melting and shrinkage of the Vatnajokull glacier. The icebergs from the glacier began to flow into the lake, leading to the formation of the lagoon as we see it today.
The icebergs in the glacier lagoon display various colors. The icebergs that have just slid off the glacier are more crystal clear, while the light blue icebergs have been compressed by various glacial actions. They become denser and absorb different wavelengths of light, taking hundreds to thousands of years to form. The black icebergs are formed by repeated compression and sedimentation after being tainted with mud and volcanic ash.
In recent years, the glacier lagoon has also been expanding, which, while making the scenery more beautiful, also signifies an increasing concern as the glaciers melt more intensely. Global warming accelerates the melting of glaciers, causing more icebergs to break off. As the lagoon's area expands, it also signifies the gradual disappearance of the glaciers. Indeed, protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility, and even small daily actions can have an impact on the other side of the planet.
The beauty of Diamond Beach knows no bounds
It feels like Iceland has suddenly turned into summer.
The sun is so warm that it makes one drowsy,
and the strong winds scatter everything around.
It's a perfect representation of a day in Icelandic weather.
Sitting on Diamond Beach, basking in the sun,
I feel such bliss from the sunshine.
The view before me
always distracts me from concentrating.
The glimmering waves and the leisurely seals
just like that, time is wasted,
and I feel completely justified in doing so.
ps: Diamond Beach isn't only a place to see ice in winter,
it's possible to find ice there all year round.
It's just a matter of how much or the size of the ice blocks.
