[Banh Mi Maniacs' Selection] Must-try on your trip to Ho Chi Minh City! 4 delicious banh mi
I love banh mi, and whenever I go to Vietnam, I try to eat it at least once at every meal. This time, I will introduce four of the best banh mi in Ho Chi Minh City, as selected by such a person!
[1. Banh Mi Madam Win]
A beautiful shop that is friendly to tourists. It seems to be a popular banh mi shop, and many delivery drivers visit. There are special and big, and I ordered the special bread. It was a little expensive compared to other places, at 70,000 VND.
Vegetables are served separately. You put on gloves and put them in between the bread yourself. I'm glad that there are both carrots and radishes for the pickled vegetables. It is really filling, with several types of ham, pate, butter, etc. I managed to finish it by myself, but I was so full that I regretted it. I think it's more suitable for lunch than breakfast.
The vegetables are fresh, there is plenty of meat, and the baguette is crispy on the outside and has a light texture. It is heavy overall because it is full of pate and butter. It was the heaviest taste I ate on this trip. If you like banh mi, I think you will definitely be satisfied with the taste.
The avocado sinto I ordered at the attached juice stand was rich and delicious, but when you eat it with the banh mi, it is so voluminous that it is a day's meal.
The staff are also kind and I recommend it for those who are new to Vietnam! Please go.
[2. Bánh Mì Huynh Hoa]
The most famous banh mi shop in Ho Chi Minh City is Huynh Hoa. I heard from a Vietnamese friend that "It is recommended to grab it because there is a line," so I ordered morning delivery from the hotel.
The banh mi arrived in about 20 minutes and was freshly made! It was large and the bread was warm. The vegetables include pickled radish, raw onion, coriander, cucumber, green onion, green chili pepper, etc., and you can put as much as you like. Even though it contains plenty of homemade butter sauce, pate, and ham, it is not heavy at all and is delicious enough to eat. If you eat it with plenty of vegetables, it will be even more refreshing thanks to the vegetables. The bread has a light texture, but the inside is a little fluffy, so it's well-balanced!
The size was so big that I couldn't finish it all at once, but after a few hours, the ingredients and bread blended better and I enjoyed a different flavor.
Each ingredient was delicious, and it was so tasty that I could tell why this restaurant is so popular with just one bite. I definitely recommend trying this.
[3. Bánh Mì Hồng Hoa]
I ordered a small-sized banh mi with roast pork for breakfast. It was filled with pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber, coriander, and more, and the baguette was crispy and fluffy. The saltiness of the sauce was just right, and the pork was soft and delicious! I tried several famous restaurants this time, but I thought the banh mi here had a well-balanced taste that wasn't too rich or light. It's so delicious that you could eat it every day, and the volume is just right, so it's a restaurant you'll want to visit every day. Recommended!
[4. Banh Mi Nhu Lang]
I came here because a Vietnamese friend recommended it. This is a restaurant for locals, but their banh mi thit is also famous. I ordered banh mi thit nuong for 30,000 dong. It's more affordable than other famous restaurants, but the portion is a little smaller. The fragrant bread is filled with plenty of bacon and onions, and the butter flavor is not too strong, so it's the perfect volume for breakfast. The bacon is smooth and delicious.
It's certainly delicious, as you'd expect from a long-established restaurant, but it's also a simple taste that doesn't take any risks. I think it's perfect for those looking for an orthodox taste, but for those who are looking for a more adventurous and original dish, I recommend Pham Hoa. But for this price and quality, I have no complaints.
All of these restaurants are so delicious that you'll want to eat them again just by remembering them. Please go and check them out!
