2025 Grodig Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in April)

Even though Salzburg is beautiful in the summer, nowhere feels more festive than being in the snow in the mountains of Salzburg in the winter! We wrapped up warmly in so many layers and went out to explore. Recommendations: Spend a day walking around the old town, visiting the sites such as Mozart’s Birthplace, Mirabell Palace, Salzburg Cathedral, St Peter’s Abbey and Mozartplatz Square. We found Christmas markets covering the square, an ice rink, and some free exhibitions. The next day, take the gondola to the top of the Untersberg, for snow and fantastic views!🚡 It is cold up there so dress warmly, and wear shoes with plenty of grip as you’ll need to walk on the snow! ⛄️ ❄️🌨️ ##magicalxmastrip #holidayseason #austriatrip #europetrip #winterwonderland #travel #festivefun

#2024wish It was winter when I was in Salzburg Austria. One of the most memorable moments from this trip was the time spent in top of Untersberg. My wife held my hand while we walked slowly in the thick snow on top of the mountain. We didn't walk too far as the visibility was low. However, we took some great photos. In 2024, I hope to visit Mount Fuji in Tokyo Japan as it has been my dream for so many years. I hope to enjoy the snow there too.

If you take the cable car up, it takes only 8 minutes, and the cable car facilities are well-equipped, and although it is difficult to get there because it is far from the city, it is so beautiful when you get to the top that you forget all about the difficulty. You can enjoy the natural scenery including the mountain from a great height, and it is so high that the town looks completely small. If you go to Salzburg, be sure to visit Untersberg Mountain, a huge mountain with a great height :)

When we were travelling in Salzburg, we got the Salzburg card which entitled us to visit a lot of places for free. Untersberg was one of such places. Untersberg is a mountain in Salzburg. I always love to view snowy mountains. Thus, I was thrilled that Untersberg was one of the places covered by the Salzburg card. We took the cable up to the peak and took a small walk over there. The weather was not so good and thus we did not have a good view of the surroundings. However, it was fun walking around in the snow on the mountain.
