The summer in the South of France
1⃣️Burgundy region | Chablis, Côte d'Or, Beaune town
Burgundy is famous for its wine, and where there is fine wine, there is certainly no lack of beautiful scenery. Hills covered with blueberries, fields cloaked in forests, sparkling lakes, and of course, vast vineyards. Embedded within are medieval villages and retro castles... It's no wonder it's so popular for weddings.
Driving into Burgundy from Paris or the Champagne region, the first area you pass through is Chablis. Then you travel through Côte d'Or to reach the town of Beaune, to explore the Hospices de Beaune, the wine cellars in the old town, the classical houses, and the unusual geometric patterns made out of colorful enamel bricks on the rooftops...
Winery recommendation: Domaine Laroche (Chablis)
Hotel recommendation: Hostellerie Levernois
Restaurant recommendation: La Table de Levernois
2⃣️Provence | Lyon, Avignon, Gordes
Lyon is one of the oldest cities in France, especially the small street under the Fourvière hill in the old town, which retains many buildings from the 15th to 17th centuries, making one feel as if they have returned to the Middle Ages.
Avignon is covered with lavender and has many papal elements, such as the Papal Palace, Avignon city walls, Pont Saint-Bénézet, and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Doms, all filled with a mysterious aesthetic. Gordes-Provence, the location of postcard-perfect scenes, boasts not only the beautiful sea of lavender flowers but also the Stone Town as one of its highlights.
Hotel recommendation: Airelles Gordes
3⃣️French Riviera | Saint-Tropez, Monaco, Èze, Cap Ferrat, Nice
Saint-Tropez can be said to be the symbol of the reputation of the French Riviera, with many low-key yet luxurious top hotels and high-end restaurants, becoming a gathering place for wealthy celebrities and stars. Cannes is also a place full of history and artistic sense, with seafood that is even more affordable than in Nice.
Monaco is a country within a country, not belonging to France~ but it is quite wealthy, with valuable sports cars seen everywhere on the beautiful streets, making the whole country feel like an incredible showcase. Èze is a small village between Nice and Monaco, and from its exotic garden at the top of over six hundred meters, one can bird's-eye view most of the French Riviera, a very charming and spectacular sight.
Cap Ferrat is just a ten-minute drive from Nice. It's great for hiking. Nice is a delicate and elegant color city, with markets that are great to stroll around, full of the charm of the South of France. Because Monaco, Èze, Nice are all close together

The village of Gordes is located in the Luberon, a spectacular region in the heart of Provence. Gordes is one of the most well-known hilltop villages in the region, and one of the most beautiful in France. Many agree that Gordes is the most beautiful hilltop village in Provence and for good reason: winding streets, cobblestone paths, and stunning views.

The stone town of Gordes in southern France
Gordes is scattered on the hillside of a steep slope, surrounded by continuous mountains, with vast fields and vineyards at the foot of the mountain. The whole town seems to be planted in a sea of green forests.
This town is known as the stone city, and all the buildings and structures in the city are made of stone: churches, houses, residences, walls, streets... The uneven stone exterior walls and the bumpy stone pavements, after 600 years of sun, wind, rain, and snow, though a bit mottled and weathered, appear more rustic, sturdy, and resilient.
Walking along the staggered steep streets, you can see painting studios at any street corner, and small roadside shops selling various hand-painted artworks; the loquat trees in the courtyards of the residences are full of yellow-orange loquat fruits, with branches almost extending outside the courtyard walls, seemingly challenging the self-discipline and curiosity of tourists; local elderly people sit quietly under the eaves at street corners, immersed in the lazy atmosphere they create, completely ignoring the bustling tourists and their gazes...
Passing by the small square of the main church, we chose a small restaurant next to it for lunch, ordered a pizza, a large vegetable salad, and three beers. The three of us were full and satisfied, especially praising the vegetable salad for its perfect balance of sweet, sour, and salty flavors!

After a whole year in June, I went to South France to see the sea of lavender flowers.
Have you seen "Summer in Provence"? Flowers, sunshine, olives...summer is really the season in Southern France!
Starting from June, the lavender in Southern France will be in full bloom again! Check out 5 little things you must do in South France to spend a romantic summer together🎠
✅️Watch a sea of lavender flowers💐
Lavender can be seen in different towns in southern France. The flowering period starts in mid-June and varies depending on the altitude. The lower plains will be the first to welcome the sea of flowers.
The largest lavender flower sea is in the Valensole Plateau. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, the lavender here can stretch to the skyline, and you can also see the sunrise and sunset in the flower fields.
If you want to avoid the crowds, you can also go to Luberon. The widely circulated photo of the lavender fields of the abbey is the Senanque Abbey here.
Starting in July every year, lavender festivals are held in various small towns. Local residents wear traditional costumes to perform, and there are also grand lavender markets, which are an indispensable part of experiencing Southern France in depth.
✅️Attend a theater festival in Avignon🎭️
Every July, Avignon becomes a theater stage, with hundreds of thousands of theater people from all over the world gathering here to perform works.
Meng Jinghui's "Rhinoceros in Love" has been here before, and the biggest production every year will be staged at the Papal Palace.
On the street, you can also see people in fancy clothes promoting their works through various performances, and some even move the prop bed from the stage to the street
✅️Following the traces of Cezanne in Aix🎨
The famous painter Cezanne was born in the small town of Aix in South France. Traces of Cézanne's Impressionism can be seen everywhere.
The most worth visiting must be Cézanne's studio. The interior is richly furnished, and the ceramics, cabinets, and statues still retain the appearance of Cézanne's lifetime. Cézanne's masterpiece "The Bathing Girl" was born here.
Walking out of the studio, Cezanne actually stuffed the entire Aix into the painting. To the east of the city, you can overlook the Mont Saint-Victoire, which often appears in Cézanne's paintings. The place where "Red Rock" was created
✅️See Van Gogh’s same sunflowers in Arles🌻
In addition to lavender, you can also see patches of sunflowers blooming in southern France, especially in Arles, a small town where Van Gogh lived.
In Arles, you can see the prototypes in Van Gogh's paintings everywhere: the Rhone River, the Arena, the outdoor cafes at night...
At the Carrière Museum, the former quarry has been transformed into a screening room. World-famous paintings are transformed into light and shadow covering the huge stone walls. Here, you can appreciate the paintings from a different angle.
✅️Explore ancient Roman ruins in Nîmes🏛️
Nîmes is a magical city. The ancient Roman ruins here are more complete than those in Rome, Italy.
In particular, the Colosseum in Nimes is the best preserved of the few remaining arenas in the world, and is not easy to see even in Italy.
Not only that, following the guide, you can also pass through the secret passage on the third level of the ancient Roman aqueduct🤫
The popularity of English in Southern France is not as good as that in Paris, and the distances between various attractions are relatively long. If you want to go to Southern France this summer, you are welcome to go with HH.

Provence is a place full of history
It really makes people linger. The blue sky, white clouds, sunny weather, and unique scenery around me make me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed. Visit three mountain towns in Provence. Biquan Village, nestled in the mountains and rivers, the spring water is gurgling, cool and comfortable. Gouhe Town, perched on the top of the mountain, the city in the sky, spectacular and fascinating. Huxi Yong Village, simple and pleasing to the eye, the city of red soil, intriguing. The small town of Provence, full of charm, like lavender, fragrant and romantic, lingering for a long time!
First stop, we recommend trying the local specialties of Provence
Lavender salt roasted lamb chops. The local chefs are very good at cooking with fresh lavender, and salt-roasted lamb chops are one of the most popular dishes. The tender and juicy lamb chops with a hint of lavender aroma are memorable.
Next, if you like outdoor sports, then hiking through the lavender fields of Provence is not to be missed. During the flowering period from June to August, large fields of lavender bloom with beautiful flowers, forming a purple ocean. Walking along the country roads, you can not only admire the magnificent lavender fields, but also pass through some ancient villages and historic churches.
Transportation in the Provence region is very convenient. You can choose to take a train from Paris to Marseille, and then transfer to local trains or buses to reach the Provence region. In addition, if you like self-driving tours, you can inquire about the details of the parking lot in advance, because the number of parking lots in the Provence region is limited.
For accommodation, there are many characteristic hotels in the Provence region for tourists to choose from. I recommend a hotel called 'Lavender Appointment', which is a hotel with a lavender garden, with elegant environment, attentive service, and moderate price. Of course, if you prefer more personalized accommodation, you can choose to stay in local homestays. These homestays are carefully decorated, and each has its own characteristics.
When visiting Provence, please keep quiet and do not disturb the wildlife in the lavender fields. In addition, due to the changeable weather in the lavender fields, it is recommended to prepare rain gear and sun protection at all times. Also, although you can take pictures in the lavender field, please respect the regulations and do not use flashlights and tripods.
In summary, Provence in France is a place worth exploring with your heart. I hope this guide can help your trip. Finally, I wish you a happy holiday in Provence!

Hidden Gem in Provence
As someone who has explored countless destinations, I can confidently say that Gordes in Provence is a true hidden gem. Nestled in the picturesque Luberon region of France, this enchanting village offers a rich and authentic experience for travelers seeking tranquility and beauty.
Gordes is renowned for its captivating architecture, with its stone houses seemingly stacked upon one another, creating a breathtaking sight. Wander through its narrow streets and discover charming boutiques, art galleries, and local handicrafts.
One of the highlights of visiting Gordes is exploring its iconic castle, perched high above the village. Take in panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, adorned with lavender fields and vineyards. It's a photographer's paradise, so don't forget your camera!
To enhance your trip, I recommend immersing yourself in the local culture by attending a traditional Provencal market. Indulge in an array of flavorsome local produce, including aromatic cheeses, honey, and olives. Pair your finds with a bottle of fine local wine, and you'll have an unforgettable picnic with a view.
If you're up for an adventure, venture further into the Luberon region and discover nearby medieval villages, such as Roussillon and Bonnieux. Each has its distinct charm and allure, offering an ideal opportunity for exploration.
When planning your visit to Gordes, keep in mind that the village can get crowded during peak tourist season. To avoid the crowds, consider visiting early in the morning or during the quieter months. Additionally, don't forget to pack comfortable walking shoes, as Gordes is best explored on foot.
In conclusion, Gordes is a hidden gem in Provence that shouldn't be missed. Immerse yourself in its rich history, soak in the stunning vistas, and savor the local flavors. Stone City has a long history, and people still maintain a traditional way of life. I don't know if it is because life is too leisurely, and the houses in the town are a bit old. A short walk from the town, you can come to the observation deck overlooking Stone Town. There are a few groves, abandoned houses and small hotels under the hillside on the observation deck. They are all good photo spots. Look at the effect of our young lady wearing a red dress, how can a beautiful word come out.
SenLi Photographer
Life in the Stone City: Here, almost every small village has its own market, one can not say the big square, several small stalls selling local agricultural and sideline products, such as cheese, honey, olive oil, etc. There are several fruit and vegetable, hot dog burger stalls, which constitute a market where local people must visit every week.
The life of the local residents is very leisurely. Everyday there is fresh food. Sitting in the streets and chatting in the sun, chatting, there are tourists coming from time to time, smiling and saying a few words, it is said that the French peoples greetings are Starting from the weather.
Stone Town has a long history, and people still maintain a traditional way of life. I dont know if its because life is too leisurely, the houses in the town are a bit old, and there are even many houses that are no longer inhabited. And dilapidated posters, but with the sun and the vines, the walls and many details have become a place to record.
SenLi Photographer
There are many exquisite towns in the Luberon region, such as the famous Spring Water City and the Red Earth City. The nearest one to the winery we live in is the Stone Town between the mountains.
The Stone Town is called Gordes, which is layered on the white rock wall of this plateau. Entering Stone Town will inevitably pass the road on the cliff opposite the town. There is a small parking lot (only a few parking spaces), a viewing platform, and here is the most beautiful place to enjoy the panoramic view of Stone Town. In the stone city in the night, when the town lights gradually light up, the town is even more magical.
At the observation deck, you can take a picture of Stone Town and its surrounding countryside. In the Luberon area, there are countless such hilltop towns, flowering vineyards, and ancient monasteries. Kilometers of lavender fields.
SenLi Photographer
I originally planned to go to Provence to see lavender. When I formed the arrangement, I wanted to go to Senanke Monastery first. I didnt expect the lavender in front of the door to be just right. It was very beautiful.
The Senanque Monastery was built in 1148 and is hidden in the secluded valley surrounded by green forests. It is one of the three famous Cistercian academies in Provence.
The road leading to the valley is rugged, on the side of the rocky cliff, overlooking the entire monastery and the blue-violet lavender fields in front of the courtyard. The natural and pure scenery is unforgettable. There are not many tourists here, and everyone can enjoy the time slowly.
Pumpkin_Plus_Watermelon.
Gordes is a small town in the south of France, known as the Stone Town. It is built on the hills of Gordes. Below is the field of a flat horse. Nestled in the middle of the mountain, it is a small town filled with whitewashed whitish stone buildings and deep and shallow green plants. Every year, it is selected as one of the most beautiful small towns in France.
From the outside to the inside, the impression of the town is that stone buildings, walls, houses, churches are almost all piled up of stones. The streets are all paved with slabs of stone, most of which were almost completely preserved in the 16th century and are still as strong as ever.
In the lavender flower season (early June-August), overlooking the hilltops of the town, you can see the lavender flowers in the foothills. Unfortunately, I only have grass left in August, no flowers.
France, Gordes
TobeJIN.
In the stone town of Gordes in the south of France, the nest is in the middle of the mountain and is said to be the prototype of the city of the sky. There are no whitewashed simple houses, mottled windows and doors, curved stone alleys, white stone-washed stone buildings and deep green plants, all of which are the most prosperous in Provence. Beautiful medieval town.
Desperado.
Stone Town is situated on the white rock of the Vaucluse Plateau and is a very famous town in the Provence region. The entire village is patchwork, like a huge Roman theatre overlooking the Sorge River and the Karaon River.
The buildings in the city are built in the Middle Ages, the gravel road above the raft, the stone bench in front of the green vine, the flowers in front of the monastery, the unique style, the quaint town is like a history book, will be medieval The show is lively and flexible. A variety of handicrafts on the street also show the leisure and colorful life of the local people.
Turkish houses, light blue pools, green trees, this is what I think of Nanfa, exactly the same. If you have enough time and wish to stay at the hotel or the hotel for a few nights in the pool, you must be very comfortable.

Sophie's French travel notes
from mid-June to mid-August, it is the season of lavender bloom in Provence, France, where the Senanque monastery in the deep valley often appears in postcards.
Automobile from Avignon for about an hour, there is a parking lot at the door, there is a clear indication that the drone cannot be used. The lavender variety in front of the monastery is hybrid lavender and purebred lavender. The color is particularly purple. Because it is a private property, the lavender field cannot be surrounded.
If you want to visit the monastery, you need to pay 7.5 euros for tickets. The staff will be guided by the staff and will be accompanied by a Chinese commentary for 45 minutes. If you have enough time, you can consider visiting.
