You won't know how beautiful it is until you go there| Visited the life I've been longing for and met my old friend Xipo again. The entire homestay is surrounded by mountains, and the picturesque scenery is hidden in the deep mountains. The homestay retains the local characteristic yellow mud outer wall and red tile roof, and it is very Xipo. The food adheres to Xipo's purpose to fatten you up, all are home-cooked dishes cooked by local aunts. As for fun, I highly recommend going to Shuangshimen. Don't be confused by the simplicity of the entrance of the scenic spot. Boldly go inside, the road conditions are not very good, and the car is parked at the first mountain stone. Walking in will have a different experience, wading through the river, single-plank bridge, after climbing and wading, you can welcome the end of hardship, it's so beautiful. The temperature difference between day and night is still quite large now, so you still need to bring some thick clothes. Pay attention to sun protection during the day, and it will be a bit cold in the shade. Every aspect reflects the meticulous and warm Northwest sentiment. Made by Professor Dong Shubing, the director of the Sculpture at Tsinghua University, the artwork carries the hope that mankind can interact with the environment in a harmonious way, just as the baby sleeps tenderly amongst the sandy horizon. Because of its grand size, many also interpret the child as a showcase of the greatness of maternal love. Standing next to this masterpiece, I was captivated by the unorthodox expression of human creativity. How to get there- Langmusi is a small town in Southern gansu province, China. We originally planned to take the bus here however we discovered buses were not running as regularly as we hoped and had to get a driver from Jiuzhaigou Valley. What to do- the scenery in Langmusi is a nature lover’s dream. Mountains and rolling hills are home to Tibetan nomads (and their guard dogs- Tibetan mastiffs!!). You can hike in the area (recommend you get a guide for safety), or as we did go on a horse trek. Where to eat and drink- There is a nice restaurant and bar street running through the town with a small selection of Chinese food options. If you want Western food go to Black tent cafe, which is owned by the Lady who provided the horse trek tour #camping

Getting There - we travelled by train all the way from Shanghai. it was good value, fast and comfortable. Attractions - My highlights were Dunhuang and the Rainbow Mountains. And the lights shining in the direction of Qichai Mountain at night are very worth seeing. However, the bathroom and shower room are shared, which is inconvenient. You can also check out the waterwheel park or hop on one of those little boats for fun. Nothing super fancy just peaceful and a bit magical. These old mudbrick houses are seriously old like centuries and still standing strong. The architecture is super cool and the narrow little alleyways give big maze energy. What’s wild is people still live there. Like you’re wandering around and someone might just wave at you from a rooftop or be chilling in their doorway. It makes the place feel really alive not just like some museum setup. There’s lots of texture and detail to check out too like carved wooden doors and faded murals hiding in corners. We didn’t have a guide but just getting lost in the vibe was part of the fun. If you’re into old stuff cool streets or just want some lowkey exploring without big tourist crowds this is a win. Gansu really came through with this one.
