Don't be confused by the simplicity of the entrance of the scenic spot. Boldly go inside, the road conditions are not very good, and the car is parked at the first mountain stone. Walking in will have a different experience, wading through the river, single-plank bridge, after climbing and wading, you can welcome the end of hardship, it's so beautiful. The temperature difference between day and night is still quite large now, so you still need to bring some thick clothes. This giant 3D baby sculpture is an artwork hidden in the middle of the Gobi Desert in Dunhuang, China. Made by Professor Dong Shubing, the director of the Sculpture at Tsinghua University, the artwork carries the hope that mankind can interact with the environment in a harmonious way, just as the baby sleeps tenderly amongst the sandy horizon. Because of its grand size, many also interpret the child as a showcase of the greatness of maternal love. Standing next to this masterpiece, I was captivated by the unorthodox expression of human creativity. How to get there- Langmusi is a small town in Southern gansu province, China. We originally planned to take the bus here however we discovered buses were not running as regularly as we hoped and had to get a driver from Jiuzhaigou Valley. What to do- the scenery in Langmusi is a nature lover’s dream. Mountains and rolling hills are home to Tibetan nomads (and their guard dogs- Tibetan mastiffs!!). You can hike in the area (recommend you get a guide for safety), or as we did go on a horse trek. Where to eat and drink- There is a nice restaurant and bar street running through the town with a small selection of Chinese food options. If you want Western food go to Black tent cafe, which is owned by the Lady who provided the horse trek tour #camping

Getting There - we travelled by train all the way from Shanghai. it was good value, fast and comfortable. Attractions - My highlights were Dunhuang and the Rainbow Mountains. So beautiful, full of history and the tourist attractions are very well managed. Even though it was busy we could enjoy everything and take our time. #summervacation

OMG, you guys! I thought Qinghai and Gansu only had vast Gobi deserts, but I didn't expect there would be mountains, rivers, lakes, deserts, and grasslands. Every place is breathtakingly beautiful! While we're still young, let's gather our friends and take a spontaneous trip. This journey is absolutely worth it! 🧳Pre-trip Checklist 1. Documents: ID card is a must! Students, bring your student ID. Those with a driver's license will have more freedom to self-drive. Hotel Photography Case Study – Chengheshun Grand Hotel, Dunhuang, Gansu|||This was my second time shooting a hotel in Dunhuang. The northern weather was as sunny as ever! Almost every day was a "crystal-clear sky," which was fantastic for the photography project! This shoot took place in mid-December 2024, during the coldest time of year. The warmest temperature during the day was -7 degrees Celsius, and at night it plummeted to -15 degrees Celsius! Waiting in the cold wind to shoot the exterior night view was truly difficult. Every minute felt like I was freezing to death outside. Overall, though, the sky was clear and the terrain was open. It had been a long time since I'd had such favorable conditions for a shoot. The hotel's facilities were also top-notch! Both the public areas and guest rooms were spacious, and the soft furnishings, as shown in the photos, featured extensive wood paneling and fabric upholstery. In addition, underfloor heating and humidifiers were provided, which are very practical in the cold and dry northwest. Besides work, Dunhuang is also worth visiting in winter. When I went there for a shoot in the summer of the same year, it was hot and stuffy, the scenic areas were crowded, and even tickets for the Mogao Caves, the most famous local attraction, had to be booked a month in advance. In winter, however, these attractions are basically accessible at any time. After finishing my shoot, I took the opportunity to visit Mingsha Mountain again. The world cultural heritage Bingling Temple is located in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province. Bingling Temple is divided into Upper Temple, Donggou and Lower Temple. It is located on the cliff on the west side of Dasigou in Jishishan on the north bank of the Yellow River. It is one of the earliest caves excavated in mainland China! There is also a Maitreya Buddha over 20 meters high inside, and there is a Z-shaped plank road next to it for visiting. There are relief pagodas and murals on the steep red sandstone cliffs that are 2 kilometers long from north to south. Although it is not as famous as the Mogao Grottoes, it is still worth a visit!
