This temple is located on a hill. It's not far from the city center, but the uphill climb is quite steep, so I recommend taking a tuk-tuk. On the way back, it's downhill, so you can walk back at your leisure. You can climb up behind the big Buddha statue and get a panoramic view of Kandy city. You take off your shoes when you enter, but the floor is exposed to the hot sun and is quite hot, so it's a good idea to wear socks.
