💖Overview of attractions
✔️Petroleum Museum: Located in the seaport of Stavanger, Stavanger is the famous North Sea oil capital, where many oil giants gather here. At the Norwegian Petroleum Museum you can learn about petroleum formation, detection and extraction and other popular science knowledge. The museum combines the progress of oil exploration technology with the image data of important moments in the history of Norwegian oil development. It also has many interactive projects, which are both informative and interesting.
✔️Bryggen Pier: Bryggen, which means wharf in Norwegian, was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. Bryggen is located in the eastern part of the harbor. In the mid-14th century, many merchants from northern Germany operated the cod trade here, and the prosperity was unprecedented. The pier wooden house was once the liaison office of Norway's underground organization fighting against the German Nazis. The century-old building has witnessed the vicissitudes of history.
✔️Sognefjord: Norway’s longer and deeper fjord, stretching from the coast north of Bergen to the mountainous Jotunheimen National Park and the glacier-lined Josdabrian National Park. Glacier meltwater flows into it, making the water of the fjord as green as emerald and the scenery picturesque. The depth of Sognefjord reaches more than 1,300 meters, and the peaks on both sides are more than 1,700 meters above sea level.
✔️Hardangerfjord: Located in Hordaland County, Norway, it is 179 kilometers long. It is the fourth longest fjord in the world and the second longest fjord in Norway, second only to Sognefjord. The Folger Glacier in Hardangerfjord is the third largest glacier in Norway. The glacier consists of three parts, covering 220 square kilometers of land, and has been protected as a national park since 2005.
✔️Aurland: Walk 2-3 kilometers further along the fjord from the town of Flåm to Aurland. Aurlandsfjord is 29 kilometers long and is a branch of Sognefjord, the longest fjord in Norway. Aurlandsfjord is deep and narrow, with the deepest reaching 962 meters below sea level, and its width is usually less than 2 kilometers. The Norwegians took advantage of the terrain and designed the water-rich Aurlanddalen Gorge into a hydroelectric power station for domestic use.
☀️Norway, a picturesque country with some of the most beautiful fjords and glaciers in the world. Self-driving travel not only allows you to deeply experience the magnificence and delicacy of this land, but also allows you to experience the rich Nordic style in the towns along the way. Whether it is the magnificent natural scenery or unique cultural customs, Norway can bring you unprecedented shock and emotion.

The view from Preikestolen cliff at sunset.
Another view from Preikestolen cliff that looks like it's in a picture frame.
Lysefjord: Located in the southwest of Norway, this fjord stretches 42 kilometers through the mountains. Standing at the edge of the cliff, you can experience a view that looks like a painting, extending as far as the eye can see. It's so beautiful that you'll have to blink to believe it's real.
Anyone who hikes at Preikestolen will get two types of views. The first is the cliff edge view, showcasing the height of the cliff, and the second is the fjord view, where you can see the winding waterways through the mountains.
The most scary rock
Finally got a chance to hike the kjeragbolten, the hike is a bit technical which sometimes u might need to use your hands to lift your body up, it is not recommended to children or pregnant women.
The view is stunning and i couldnt step on the stone coz its really scary
Hiking to Pulpit Rock in Norway
#summerdestinations
Pulpit Rock, or Preikestolen in Norwegian, is a famous cliff formation in Lysefjord, Norway. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the fjord.
📍Take a bus or train to Stavanger, then a local bus to Preikestolen.
🧭 The hike is approximately 8 kilometers round trip, typically takes 1.5-2 hours to reach Pulpit Rock. The trail is well-marked and no need to use guide.
🌳 Best time to visit is during summer season, when the weather is good, no rains and long days.
Norway and Iceland 17-Day Deep Tour (Pulpit Rock Hiking)
June 21, Stavanger - Pulpit Rock Hiking - Bøssgrenda
Depart from the hotel at 7:30 AM, drive for 1 hour, and arrive at the Pulpit Rock parking lot around 8:30 AM.
The name Pulpit Rock comes from its unique 'pulpit-like' shape. This cliff is entirely rectangular, with a vertical wall and a platform at the top forming a massive natural podium. One side of the cliff edge is incredibly smooth, like a giant tabletop, while the other side plunges straight into the clouds.
The entire hiking trail to Pulpit Rock is not too difficult, but it is definitely not easy. The initial mountain path is relatively gentle, covered with moss and passing through a primeval forest. As you continue, the challenge increases, with the flat path replaced by steps made of piled rocks. These steps show no signs of artificial carving, looking natural and rustic, but they are uneven and quite strenuous to walk on. The overall trend is upward, with occasional small downward slopes, followed by a long boardwalk. It's a relief to finally not have to step on rocks, but the boardwalk soon ends.
I don't know how long I walked, turning one bend after another, always hoping the next bend would bring an end to the steps and a flatter path. But my hopes were dashed; after each bend, there were more steps, and then more steps. Just when you think you're almost there, another steep slope appears, which is really frustrating.
The last section of the trail is the most challenging. Just a few hundred meters from the end, you will encounter a sinkhole, like a giant pit blocking your way. This pit is several hundred meters deep, with a narrow wooden footbridge on one side. When you stand at the edge of the sinkhole and look down at the bottomless cliff, your legs will involuntarily tremble. The bridge is only wide enough for one person, with no handrails or protection. I tried to stay as close to the inside as possible, avoiding looking at the pit, and slowly moved across.
Despite the hike to Pulpit Rock sounding very thrilling, it is also an excellent place to appreciate the natural beauty of Norway. Besides the unforgettable view from the top of the cliff, the scenery along the way is equally beautiful. Numerous streams flow through the mountains, and the grasslands and forests are lush and green. Occasionally, you might encounter squirrels and other animals, adding a touch of vitality to the journey.
From a distance, Pulpit Rock stands abruptly among the towering mountains of the fjord, very spectacular. When you get closer and stand on the platform of Pulpit Rock, the magnificent view of Lysefjord unfolds before your eyes, leaving you in awe.
If you are a fan of the 'Mission: Impossible' series, you might recognize Pulpit Rock. Yes! It is the very rock that Tom Cruise climbed in 'Mission: Impossible 6'. After the movie was released, the Pulpit Rock hiking route became famous, undoubtedly the 'star route' among many hiking trails.
If you can only hike once in Norway, Pulpit Rock is definitely the top choice. The entire hiking process is simpler than imagined, 8 kilometers round trip, taking 4 hours...

Travelled to Pulpit Rock from Stavanger, as we travelled in Aug we managed to hop onto a boat ride there ⛴️ The photos definitely don't do justice to the magnificent view when u reach the top.
Aug might be summer, however, as we climbed higher it gets more chilling so do cover up!
Another note was to bring a mini first-aid kit along, never did we know that it would come into use. We offered our survival blanket and bandages to a lady who fell while heading down.
Its also impt to have reliable telco network to call the emergency hotline during such time.

Norway has the reputation of the country of the fjord, with 80% of the world's fjords in Norway and her more famous Milford Sound in New Zealand. Therefore, the fjord has become a world heritage and it is also expected.
As a boulder stone of one of the three megaliths, the summit can overlook the Sognefjord, just need to hike for 4-6 hours. The more famous Gaillang Fjord and the Nryfjord are located in the southwest of Norway and can be visited in Norway. It is recommended to experience the fjord scenery slowly and stay in flam or Ai Yulan for one night. Summer is the peak season, the weather is relatively good, and the reflection of the fjord under the blue sky and white clouds is very magnificent. Moreover, there are countless large and small waterfalls on the cliffs, which are very beautiful. There are also small town fishing villages on both sides, and the colored wooden houses are also very cute.
Transfer from the country to the capital Oslo, then take a plane or train to Bergen or Stavanger to start your fjord tour!
