#yearofrabbit City 1/3 during our #lunarnewyear travels was the Enshi Prefecture in #hubei #china. We’d heard of the fantasy-like rivers, water so clear that boats appear to be floating on air. They were even more stunning in real life than we could have imagined. Bright red lanterns hanging from a cliffside rest-stop contrasted vibrantly against the ethereal blues all around us. The surroundings were quiet, as very few tourists travel to Enshi. We found ourselves wrapped in the sounds of the river’s gentle flow. While in Enshi, we also went to visit the stunning Stone Forest, as well as the canonical Grand Canyons. While each place held breathtaking sights, the calming sounds of the most crystalline river I’ve ever beheld will forever remain my favorite memory from our travels in beautiful Enshi. #mytripvlog #newyearadventure #tripblazers

This is only one of the many natural wonders in Enshi. You can easily spend half-day exploring this mountain. And like all other mountains tourists’ destinations in China, you can take the cable-car up, the path is well-built with clear signs, there are plenty of stairs to climb (instead of hiking through bushes and wilderness). Nevertheless, the view is wonderful. Take some time to stop and just look around -and breathe. One of the must-visit, underrated, destination of China! Tips: as this is not an internationally known tourist spot (like Guilin or Zhangjiaje), most restaurants and hotels staff are unable to understand any English. Get yourself a good translator or just master a basic conversational skills :) Tips 2: this place may not bee too popular to international tourists, but really popular among locals! Still better to visit outside the public holidays.

Enshi Address - in the southwest of Hubei Province, central China Highlights - Enshi Grand Canyon/ Yunlong ground/ Seven Star Village Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This place is magical, full of amazing beautiful natural scenery. Luckily, the moment I went there, it wasn’t that too touristy. Less people and I could say the locals were so open and excited to welcome the tourist. I explored it with a friend, we hired a local to be our driver and he toured us around. We found some interesting places that you couldn’t even have heard maybe before. Those rocks 🪨 with it’s different uniqueness shapes and story behind. You’ll definitely be fascinated by it. On the other hand, be sure to have an extra precaution with safety. we started from cable car down to up station and did 6k on the top of the ridge until escalators. followed by few kilometers bus ride from escalator down station to cable car down station back. then walked down the stairs to follow the green path on the bottom of the valley. all together 15 km GPS measured was gold. highly recommended for hiking lovers ! The Grand Canyon is approximately 2 hours by car from Enshi. The total trek is around 10 kilometres and takes around 4-5 hours. Do take the cable car as it covers a lo of grounds over a not very scenic part of the mountains. There was an interesting story about how the place got its name. Legend goes in ancient time, the King of Xiang united five different tribes of Ba people and became their captain. One day he came across a place with three strategically significant mountain passes in a row. So the captain named this place “Suobuya”, because in Ba language, “sobu” means“three”and“ya” means “mountain pass”.
