The best climbs in Fitz Roy, Patagonia
Patagonia stretches across the border between Argentina and Chile.
Among them, Fitz Roy, which is 3,400m above sea level and is the Patagonia logo, is the best spot.
There are hiking trails and climbing routes, and you can enjoy breathtakingly beautiful scenery.
Many people start walking late at night to see the sunrise, and descend in the morning after the sun has risen.
It's a must-see at least once in your life.

Patagonia, Argentina, a paradise for mountaineering enthusiasts
This time, I flew to El Calafate in Argentina to hike in order to create a prototype for the Patagonia logo.
Laguna de los Tres is one of the most popular hiking routes in El Chaltén, Argentina. The hiking route is about 20 kilometers and takes about 8 to 10 hours round trip. The whole process requires adapting to the alpine terrain and changeable weather, but the scenery along the way is well worth the challenge.
This trail is considered a moderate to difficult hike. Although most of the road is flat, there are steep uphill sections near the lake, which require a certain amount of physical strength and endurance. Especially in the last few hundred meters uphill, the road surface is sometimes rugged and some places require climbing using both hands and feet. When you reach the lake, you will see a beautiful panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains, glaciers and the lake, which makes all the hard work worth it.
Note:
In mountainous areas, the weather changes very quickly. It is recommended to dress in an onion style, wear a windbreaker as the outermost layer, and prepare enough water and food. Especially in the fall and winter, when the weather is likely to become colder and windier, it is especially important to prepare windproof and warm gear.
Sightseeing along the way: During the hike, visitors can also enjoy the beautiful views of Laguna Sucia and Laguna de los Tres. The scenery along the way is very rich, ranging from virgin forests, grasslands to glacial lakes.

Before entering El Chalten town, don't forget to stop and take a picture of this view.
Before entering El Chalten, don't forget to stop and take a picture of this view.
I drove to El Chalten to go hiking at one of the most famous mountains in the world, "Patagonia". In Patagonia, you can hike to see the Fitz Roy peak on both sides: Argentina and Chile. For this trip, I hiked in Argentina.
The view along the way, just driving, I was amazed by the beauty of the view on both sides. I parked the car on the road to take pictures with the view of the Patagonia peaks. The view is worth millions. Before entering El Chalten village, I stopped to take a picture at the village sign, which was also very beautiful. This village is not very big. Tourists come to stay to prepare for hiking. There are many restaurants and souvenir shops. It was a wonderful vacation.

Getting There - busses and flights available from all major cities in Argentina including Ushuaia.
Attractions - plenty of amazing hikes from town including Fitz Roy. lots of view points en route to the final viewing platform. around 9k but the final 1k is brutal uphill. wear proper hiking shoes in the winter / autumn as it’s very snowy.
Hotels - plenty of high end hotels and hostels in town. all with maps and weather indicators for the next day.
Food & Restaurants - some fantastic choices of Argentinian cuisine and also pub food to choose from.
Shopping - all the basic shops and necessities needed. also lots of hiking shops for the things you forget.

Approximat
Approximately 230 km between El Calafate and El Charlton, Route 40 extends around the Argentino Lake and is the only road between the two tourist resorts. The special geographical environment of Patagonia creates a unique view, and it is a very happy thing to be able to drive on Highway 40. Although the dark clouds only dispersed in the evening, I finally saw the sunset of the Fitzroy Hill.
