The stilted buildings, stone-paved roads, and swaying black-awning boats of Wujiang Village create a cinematic atmosphere in every shot—it's like the real-life version of Big Fish & Begonia hidden in Guizhou! I recently visited Wujiang Village, which is booming in summer, and after experiencing it firsthand, I was completely captivated by this real-world paradise. By day, it looks like a lush ink painting. At night, with the lights shimmering, it feels like stepping into the world of Spirited Away. I've been to many ancient towns, but Wujiang Village stands out for its attention to classical details combined with trendy activities that everyone loves! [One] After breakfast, first change into a set of ethnic minority costumes to blend in with the local customs, then head to the [Taiyi Pavilion Pier] to experience rowing a boat, feeling like you're traveling through a painting. After disembarking, enjoy free photography. [Two] Next, go to the [Covered Bridge Water Area] to watch the intangible cultural heritage performance of the "Single Bamboo Raft" crossing the river on a single reed. If you miss it, there is another show at dusk. [Three] For lunch, head to [Riverside Food Street] to taste various northern Guizhou specialties, such as Baishou pancakes, Zunyi lamb noodles, and grilled Huangba. After lunch, you can choose to do handicrafts at [Wu Paper Workshop], [Bamboo Crafts Shop], and [Lantern Shop]. Experience making handmade grass paper, bamboo kites, and other intangible cultural heritage crafts to take home unique souvenirs. [Four] In the afternoon, visit [Guojiu Gate] to watch the "Lingering Brewing Love" drama performance and taste the local rice wine. After the show, go to [Yanhuang Teahouse] to brew tea around the stove and enjoy traditional cultural performances. [Five] Then head to the [Huilong Island Grand Stage] to watch the Winter Song and Dance stage show around the stove. Highly recommend dinner!!! The [Huilong Island Ancient Opera Stage] offers a winter-only northern Guizhou specialty hot pot feast, where you can savor the unique hot pot while watching traditional cultural performances. Lucky audience members may even be invited on stage to experience the toasting culture of Guizhou’s ethnic minorities. At the [Folk Bar], you can also try the unique Naxi ethnic "Dragon Tiger Fight," a blue flame drink mixing tea and liquor. [Three] Then go to the [Huilong Island Square] for a bonfire electronic music party—music and dancing keep the winter chill away. Finally, watch the "Kongming Lantern + French Flying Fish Show" before heading back to your room to rest. A day at Wujiang Village is perfectly planned out. There are multiple hotels, guesthouses, and inns within the scenic area. This time I stayed at the [Miao King Hotel], the same style as Ming★, with excellent views and good breakfast—highly recommended!!! Transportation: High-speed rail direct access to Zunyi or Zunyi South Station. The South Station is only 14 km from the scenic area, about a 20-minute taxi ride. 📌 Practical Tips - Hotels inside the scenic area are a bit pricey; it’s recommended to stay in Bozhou District (15 minutes by car). The northern Guizhou hotel we stayed at offers great value. - Remember to bring mosquito repellent in summer! There are many mosquitoes near the water. - Drones must be registered in advance and approved at the visitor center before flying. - Don’t miss the bonfire party at 8 PM; dancing with Miao girls is super fun! 🍜 Food Recommendations [Yuanji Beef Noodles] in Shangji Town Old Street, Bozhou District A 30-year-old shop, huge bowls of beef noodles for 10 yuan, don’t forget to add their special spicy chili paste! [Wujiang Tofu Fish] at the East Gate Market of the scenic area Fresh fish killed on the spot, 48 yuan per jin, paired with a special sour soup base—absolutely delicious. 🚗 Transportation Guide Self-driving navigation to "Wujiang Village East Parking Lot" (parking fee 10 yuan/day) About 1 hour taxi ride from Zunyi city center (around 80 yuan by Didi)
