Leaving Tangjia Wan Ancient Town, not far to the west is the quaint Huitong Ancient Village with its blue bricks and gray tiles. The ancient village was named "Huitong Village" after Mo Huitong, the patriarch of the Mo family during the heyday of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. This ancient village from the Qing Dynasty is not big, with mountains behind and water in front, ancient trees shady, three streets and eight alleys scattered in an orderly manner. There are two watchtowers in the village, one called "Yunfei" and the other called "Fengqi", one at the head and the other at the end of the village, one in the south and the other in the north, echoing each other. The two iron bells embedded on the gray and white exterior walls of the watchtowers mottled by time have a flavor of a combination of Chinese and Western styles and are unique! The modern slogan of Huitong Village is "Meet as scheduled, meet by chance"! Nowadays, there are many modern and stylish shops, restaurants, cafes, movie theaters, bookstores, etc. that are full of petty-bourgeois sentiments in the village.
