I'd like to share with you a super niche city I visited this year - Zhenjiang, Jiangsu.

It's like a pearl forgotten in a corner, so low-key that I can't help but want to speak up for it! Did you know that Zhenjiang is less than half an hour's drive from Nanjing? It's so close! Although this small city is not big, it has a unique charm. It has "Three Mountains and One Ferry", and even Su Dongpo was fond of it! Moreover, the beautiful legend of White Snake flooding Jinshan is also passed down here, doesn't it feel very romantic? Unlike the gentle and graceful charm of other Jiangnan cities, Zhenjiang gives me more of a sense of chivalry and righteousness. Walking through the streets and alleys of this city, you can almost hear the echoes of history and feel its unique charm. Here's a detailed travel guide to Zhenjiang! 🚄 Transportation: You can take a high-speed train to Zhenjiang Station. If you're coming from Nanjing, it only takes 20 minutes, super convenient! Zhenjiang city is not big, so buses and taxis are very convenient. If you're driving yourself, it takes about 2 hours from Hangzhou! 💃 Itinerary planning: My recommended itinerary is Jinshan Temple➡️Xijin Ferry➡️Zhenjiang Museum➡️Boshan Road➡️Beigushan. 👇🏻 Attractions: 📍 Jinshan Temple: This temple is magnificent, with layers of halls and pavilions. When you climb to the top of the mountain, you can also overlook the beautiful scenery of the whole city. It's amazing! Moreover, the legend of White Snake flooding Jinshan to save Xu Xian took place here. Do you want to come and explore it yourself? 📍 Xijin Ferry: This is where the only surviving cross-street stone pagoda in China, the Yuan Dynasty Zhaoguan Pagoda, is located! Walking along the street, you can see historical relics everywhere, from the Six Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It's no wonder that Xijin Ferry is known as the "cultural vein" of Zhenjiang! Walking through it, you feel like you've traveled back in time, and the strong historical atmosphere is palpable. 📍 Zhenjiang Museum: Museums are a great place to quickly and comprehensively understand the past and present of a city! Zhenjiang Museum is located opposite the south entrance of Xijin Ferry, and it's also free! 📍 Beigushan: Beigushan has Beigushan Tower. Climb Beigushan Tower and look out over the Yangtze River. The vast and mighty river is truly breathtaking! The Ganlu Temple Wharf at the foot of the mountain is also a great place to watch the sunset. Don't miss it! 🍚 Food recommendations: Zhenjiang also has very distinctive cuisine! ✅ Wu's Wontons: Their red bean yuanxiao and rice cakes are especially delicious. They have a soft and glutinous texture, sweet but not greasy, and leave you wanting more. ✅ Pot lid noodles: This is a Zhenjiang specialty snack. The noodles are very delicious and chewy. Once you try them, you'll love them! ✅ For a proper meal, you can go to Zhou's Second Miss's Restaurant, but you have to go early, otherwise you might have to queue. Their dishes are very tasty and worth a try! ✅ Zhenjiang balsamic vinegar: Zhenjiang balsamic vinegar is famous all over China! Buying some to take home as gifts for friends and family is also a good choice. 🏨 Accommodation recommendations: We stayed in a guesthouse near Xijin Ferry. It was very convenient to get around, and it was close to all the attractions, making it easy to get around. Zhenjiang is such a charming city. Although it's still relatively niche now, I'm really afraid that it will become popular! Because I want to keep this beauty to myself.
