Lotus Gathering at Jinshan

Summer is the prime season for lotus flowers. In Zhenjiang, besides enjoying the ten-mile stretch of lotus flowers at Jinshan Lake, the annual lotus exhibition in Jinshan Scenic Area is also a great place to appreciate lotuses. On July 1st, the 'Lotus Gathering at Jinshan' exhibition opened, and the sweltering plum rain season couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of visitors. On the opening day, over a hundred varieties of potted and landscaped lotuses attracted numerous tourists. This year's lotus exhibition is mainly concentrated at the lotus pond at the entrance of Jinshan Scenic Area, Buddhist Square, Baihua Island, and Yiquan Scenic Area. Over a hundred varieties of domestic and international premium lotuses, such as Fo Zuo, Nishang Qu, Dahongpao, Biluo Liuhong, Xiangshan Lian, and Tianjiao, will welcome guests through various forms such as pond planting, pot planting, and landscaping, showcasing Jinshan's long-standing lotus culture and unique lotus charm. 'About 500 pots of potted lotuses are displayed this year, distributed in the front square, along the main road, and in the Bodhi Botanical Garden. From the moment you enter the park gate, the main attractions feature lotus landscapes, offering a scenic view at every step,' said a staff member. Unlike the 'endless green lotus leaves connecting the sky' at Jinshan Lake, this year's lotus exhibition in Jinshan Scenic Area focuses on 'small and exquisite,' aiming to sketch a picture of elegance and charm for visitors to closely experience the 'fragrance sent by the lotus breeze.'
