You can choose to take a taxi to the Seven Star Crags Bridge, after crossing the bridge you will see the big characters for Seven Star Crags, where you can take photos and check in. Then walk to the East Gate, check your ticket to enter, or choose to enter from the South Gate, both are similar. Once inside, just keep walking forward, along the way there are Star Lake bamboo rafts, if you want to take a raft ride, buy a ticket there, the area circled in white on my map is the range of the bamboo raft tour. Walk to the Red Lotus Bridge, where lotuses are planted, and you can enjoy the lotuses. After crossing the bridge, you will reach Guan Yu Pavilion, where many fish are raised in the water and you can buy some fish feed to feed them. There is also an Iron Chain Bridge to walk on, I took a detour to the Iron Chain Bridge and then reached the North Face of Tianzhu Rock, where there is a mountain trail. It takes about half an hour to climb up, not very high, but the scenery on the mountain is quite worth it. From the top, you can see the whole view of the Seven Star Crags scenic area, and there is a Zhaixing Pavilion at the top, where you can sit and rest. Then descend from another trail around the mountain, that is, to the South Face of Tianzhu Rock, so you don't have to go back the same way. After coming down the mountain, pass the Red Lotus Bridge again and walk forward to Star Lake Cruise Boat - Chanlin Pier, if you buy the boat ticket online, you need to purchase it half an hour in advance, and it's a few yuan cheaper online. The boat ticket includes a round trip, first take the boat to Flamingo Island, the island is quite small, just to see flamingos, there are not many flamingos, about a dozen or twenty, but they look pretty good in photos. After crossing a bridge, you can see the red-crowned cranes, and you can also buy fish to feed them. After that, take the boat again to Star Lake Wetland Park, if you don't take the boat, you can also enter the wetland park from another gate, which is a bit far, but you can't get to Flamingo Island without taking the boat. If you are not interested in birds, you can also skip the boat ride. In the wetland park, you can see the Reclining Buddha Containing Elixir, one of the ten scenic spots of Star Lake, which looks good at sunset, but I didn't wait for the sunset when I was there. Then just walk forward past Fairy Lake, Lingzhi Island, to reach Shidong Ancient Temple, which is the last scenic spot. Next to the ancient temple is the pier, take the boat back to the starting point Star Lake Cruise Boat - Chanlin Pier. After a full circle, you are almost done with the tour. After the boat ride, the closest exit is the North Gate, if you want to go back to the East Gate or South Gate, it will take half an hour. I exited from the North Gate, and it took only about fifteen minutes to walk out.
