World Geopark: Huguangyan

📍Huguangyan World Geopark is located 18 km southwest of Zhanjiang City, with a total area of 38 square kilometers, of which the core scenic area is 13.6 square kilometers and the lake area is 2.3 square kilometers. 🌟Huguangyan is the largest, most typical, and best-preserved maar lake in the world. The lake sediments of Huguangyan have faithfully recorded the changes in the paleoclimate and paleoenvironment over the past 100,000 years, and are known as the "natural annals of environmental change" by experts. 🌟Huguangyan Maar Lake is a magical and rare lake surrounded by volcanic cliffs and steep cliffs. From the air, it looks like a "heart" and has an average depth of about 20 meters. 🌟Huguangyan has a long history and culture, and is said to be associated with the Song Dynasty writer Su Dongpo, who left the words "Huguangyan" here. The park has ancient temples and stone carvings, such as Lengyan Temple and Baiyi Nunnery, which add to the cultural atmosphere. ✅Huguangyan is about 7 km around the lake, and visitors can walk along the lake or take a tour bus around the lake to enjoy the scenery. The sightseeing train costs CNY 20 per person, and there are also 2-4 self-driving electric cars available for rent.
