Off-Season Reverse Travel | Winter Travel to Zhangye Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon

In winter, Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon is covered in snow, creating a stunning and breathtaking scene! This time, we chose the regular tour 🏃 and then chose to walk the No. 1 hiking route. Since it is winter ❄️, the off-season for tourism, there are very few other tourists. We took photos 📸 and flew a drone ✈️, so we soon lost sight of other tourists. Also, because there were few tourists, when we climbed the ladder later, there were only the two of us. We stopped to rest when we were tired and passed through relatively easily. ❄️ When visiting Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon in the off-season, you have two options: 1⃣ Regular tour: CNY 130/person (ticket + sightseeing bus + canyon hiking) 🏃 2.5–3 hours in total 2⃣ In-depth tour: CNY 328/person (ticket + sightseeing bus + adventure car + camel ride + camel cart + canyon hiking) 🏃 3.5–4.5 hours in total 📍 Regular tour route: Take the sightseeing bus from the entrance to the viewing platform (Viewing Platforms 1, 2, and 3) and walk for about 20 minutes to start the hiking route (Routes 1, 2, and 3) → Viewing Platform 4 → Take the sightseeing bus to the exit Tips: Viewing Platforms 1, 2, and 3: Not far apart, all overlooking the canyon from a high point. ✅ Hiking route (Route 1) "Yixiantian" (A Glimpse of Heaven), very narrow, the last section is an 80-degree, 60-meter-high ladder, the narrowest part can only accommodate one person, a bit dangerous, there are two sections of the ladder, after climbing, you can go out. Fun and exciting, but short, just down the canyon and out, only seeing the surface of the canyon. ✅ Hiking route (Route 2) "Baibuxia" (Hundred Steps Canyon), many steps but relatively gentle, the scenery is slightly inferior, not recommended. ✅ Hiking route (Route 3) "Lingzhi Valley" (Ganoderma Valley), the most beautiful and spectacular scenery, hiking at the bottom of the canyon, with high red canyons on both sides. The route is relatively long, 6 km in total, about 40 minutes. The last section requires climbing 388 steps of a spiral staircase, not dangerous but a bit tiring, the spiral staircase leads to Viewing Platform 4, take the sightseeing bus to the exit. 📍 In-depth tour route: Take the sightseeing bus from the entrance to the viewing platform (Viewing Platforms 1, 2, and 3) and take the adventure car to Viewing Platform 5 → Camel ride → Camel cart to start the hiking route (Routes 1, 2, and 3) → Viewing Platform 4 → Take the sightseeing bus to the exit Tips: ✅ Adventure car: The speed is not fast, quite safe, you can see Viewing Platform 5. ✅ Camel ride: About 10 minutes. ✅ Camel cart: Slow speed, the sound of camel bells, a feeling of being in the Western Regions. ✅ Hiking route: After getting off the camel cart, it is the same hiking route as the regular tour.
