“It’s not just high, it’s the best!” Oh my! We just came back from China and went to Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie. I have to say… it’s the most magnificent mountain I’ve ever been to in my life! 😱 At first, I just thought it was just an ordinary mountain with a beautiful view, but in fact… this place is the peak of the way up, the peak of the walkway, the peak of the view, and the peak of the thrill!! ⸻ 🚡 Starting from the way up – the longest cable car in the world We went up the mountain by the cable car (Tianmen Cable Car), which is said to be the longest in the world, about 7.5 kilometers long, taking almost 30 minutes. It gradually climbs from the city to the top of the mountain, through forests, and cliffs, so high that you can see the clouds floating in front of you! It felt like we were in a Chinese martial arts movie. Looking from below, it looks like someone opened the sky. You have to climb 999 steps to get there – we didn’t walk! We took a bus instead, which was just as scary because the way up has 99 curves (not exaggerating). The bus goes up like a roller coaster on a mountain. When you see it, you hold your breath the whole way. ⸻ 🌥️ The view from above: It’s like standing in heaven. The view from above is dazzling, with a mountain range that looks like an ancient Chinese painting. It’s even more surreal when there’s a little fog. It's like standing on a cloud. There are many photo spots. Every angle is beautiful no matter how you take a photo. ⸻ 🧋Overall atmosphere • The air on the mountain is cool and comfortable. Even if you go in the summer, it's not hot at all. • There are quite a lot of people, especially Chinese tourists, but it's well-managed. • There are small restaurants and cafes to stop by. • The walk is not too hard. There are elevators/escalators at intervals. ⸻ 📌 If you've ever thought, "Just one mountain, what could be so big?" Let me tell you, Tianmen Mountain is really an "extraordinary mountain." The view, the height, the thrill, the excitement, it's all mixed together perfectly. I'd like you to try it at least once in your life. But I recommend that it's not suitable for people who are extremely afraid of heights.
