After more than seven hours of high-speed rail, we finally arrived in Zhangjiajie. ​ On the first day, I strolled around the city and found that the air quality here is really good. It is fresh and has a light sweet fragrance, which is quite special. ​ In addition to the three famous scenic spots, there are many attractions worth visiting near the city. In addition to the 72 strange towers that I was originally going to visit, I also went to Dayong Ancient City this time. The so-called Dayong Ancient City is actually the old appearance of Zhangjiajie before it was "modernized". In simple terms, it preserves some of Zhangjiajie's old buildings and becomes a tourist attraction after renovation. In the past, you had to pay an entrance fee to enter the city. I don't know if the performances inside have stopped these days, so there is no entrance fee. Forget it. The 72 Wonders Tower is more fun than you think. To be honest, you can still have fun here even if you don't buy a ticket. ​ There are a lot of aboriginal people setting up stalls on the street outside Qilou, selling some unique products of Zhangjiajie, such as wax gourd and berry tea. You don’t have to go inside to eat, there are many places to eat local food outside the building, which is quite convenient (the layout is a bit like the Shilin Night Market in Taiwan) ​ Theoretically, if you want to take a panoramic photo of the 72 Wonders, you have to buy a ticket to enter, but if you can find some lesser-known locations outside the venue, you can still take photos.
