Zagreb, the peaceful capital of Croatia

This charming capital is divided into two main areas: the Upper Town, characterized by its steep slopes and elevated terrain, and the Lower Town, which is flatter and more modern. Here are some must-visit attractions in Zagreb: 🇭🇷 St. Mark's Church: This iconic church features a colorful tiled roof displaying the coat of arms of Croatia and Zagreb, making it a symbol of the city. Unfortunately, access to the interior is restricted to certain groups, and police officers prevented us from entering. 🇭🇷 Zagreb Cathedral: The tallest Gothic-style cathedral in Croatia, with a history dating back to the 13th century. During our visit, it was under renovation, so we couldn’t explore the interior. Nearby, there’s a fountain and a tall column perfect for photos. 🇭🇷 Porta di Pietra (Stone Gate): A historic city gate. 🇭🇷 Dolac Market: A vibrant fresh market located in the heart of the city. 🇭🇷 Trg bana Josipa Jelačića: This square gives off a vibe similar to Siam Square in Zagreb, with shopping areas nearby. 🇭🇷 Croatian National Theatre: A stunning building in the Lower Town. We only took photos of the exterior, as it’s one of the most beautiful structures in the area.
