Dutch Windmill Village

《🇳🇱 Zaanse Schans Windmill Village》 is a small village near Zaandijk in the province of North Holland. Because most of the land in the Netherlands was acquired by filling in due to disputes with the sea, and in order to prevent seawater from pouring in, many windmills were built in this small coastal village at that time. They mainly used wind power to generate electricity and then discharge the seawater. In this way, the water in the planned waterways and channels would be fresh and salty water, which would be conducive to irrigation. Later, as technology developed, power generation equipment was replaced by the wind turbines we often see today, so the old windmills were gradually eliminated.
