Follow Black Wukong to Southern Shanxi, Hampton by Hilton Yuncheng Salt Lake I wanted to follow Black Wukong's footsteps, but avoid the National Day holiday, so I chose to arrive in Yuncheng the day after the holiday, and start a week-long trip to Southern Shanxi. Before departure, I did some research and realized that the Hedong area has been an important place since ancient times, with a rich history. Although I only planned to take a quick look, my schedule was full every day. Since I fell in love with checking in at hotels, staying in hotels has become a habit. Even though I stayed at Hampton by Hilton Yuncheng Salt Lake for four nights, I was still not very familiar with it, because I left early and returned late every day, and then washed up and went to bed. I really didn't have time to experience it properly. Fortunately, the management team was attentive, added me on WeChat in advance, and communicated with me at any time to meet my needs. I am grateful for that. The hotel is located in the northwest new district of Yuncheng, where various chain hotels like to settle. The surrounding facilities are complete, and several popular restaurants are not far away. Shared electric bikes are parked at the entrance, which are a great help for local tours. The hotel is not large, with about ten rooms on each floor, facing different directions. The upgrade for diamond members is a deluxe king bed. The window faces the road, and it is quiet at night with the curtains drawn. The hardware in the room is standard, with no highlights or pitfalls. It should have opened in the past year or two, as there are no water stains on the metal parts, the ceramics are white, and the linens are soft. Except for one day when I went to the morning market, I had breakfast at the restaurant on the fourth floor for the other three days. The food was consistently better than other hotels of the same level. There were local specialties such as Beixiang Hubu, as well as seven or eight hot dishes, which were changed daily. Overall, it is worth coming back. International chain hotels are currently not very popular in Yuncheng, with only Hampton and Novotel. In terms of cost performance, Hampton is clearly better, so there is no other choice. In addition, I am more willing to share where I went and what I saw on this wonderful trip than where I slept. Here is my itinerary for reference. Day 1: Donghu Market, Yuncheng Museum, Guanwang Temple, Yuncheng Catholic Church, Ancient Street, Chishen Temple. Day 2: Yongle Palace, Ruicheng City God Temple, Guan Di Temple. Day 3: Li Family Courtyard, Wanrong Ji King Temple, Dongyue Temple, Macun Brick Carving Tomb, Fawang Temple, Jishan Ji King Temple, Giant Buddha Temple. Day 4: Jiangzhou Hall, Jiangzhou Three Towers, Three Officials Temple, Confucius Temple, Jiangzhou Catholic Church, Longxing Temple.
