Yulong Snow Mountain 🏔️ is located in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, and is a sacred mountain in the hearts of the Naxi people 🪽. Its name is "Olu" in the Naxi language, meaning "silver rock." The snow-capped mountain range is 75 km long and consists of 13 snow peaks, resembling a giant dragon flying in the clouds ☁️, hence the name "Yulong Snow Mountain." The main peak, Shanzidou, is 5,596 meters above sea level and is the closest snow-capped mountain to the equator in the Northern Hemisphere. 🌟Recommended attractions 1️⃣ Glacier Park - Ticket 🎫: CNY 140 💰/person 🕐 Opening hours: 7:00–16:15 Take a bus from Zhongyi Market to Yulong Snow Mountain in the morning. You will be charged an extra entrance fee (CNY 100 💰/person) at the entrance. Students and teachers can enjoy a discount (CNY 50 💰/person). Take the cable car to 4,506 meters above sea level, and then climb the stairs to the top. Bring your own oxygen (buy it at the foot of the mountain, as it is expensive on the mountain). You may experience altitude sickness as you climb higher. Walk about 300 meters to the top of the mountain at 4,860 meters above sea level. 🚶 Tour time: 2–3 hours . 2️⃣ Spruce Meadow - Ticket 🎫: CNY 60 💰/person 🕐 Opening hours: 7:00–18:00 Take a bus to Spruce Meadow after getting off the cable car. Take the small cable car and walk for another 10 minutes to reach Spruce Meadow. The area is mostly fenced off, but some tourists climb over the fence to take photos. However, most tourists stay outside the fence. The area is very photogenic, and you can take beautiful photos anywhere. 🚶 Tour time: 2 hours . 3️⃣ Blue Moon Valley - Ticket 🎫: Included in the entrance fee 🕐 Opening hours: 6:30–16:00 Take the cable car down after visiting Spruce Meadow, and then take the shuttle bus to the second stop, Shuiyue Pavilion (🔴 Note: Blue Moon Valley is right next to Shuiyue Pavilion). If you want to check in at this place, check the weather in advance. The scenery of Blue Moon Valley varies greatly depending on the weather. Only on a sunny day can you appreciate the beauty of the blue-green lake under the sunlight. 🚶 Tour time: 1–2 hours 🏔 Snow mountain equipment tips 1⃣ Warm clothes: Wear thick clothes. If you wear windproof clothes, you don't need to rent warm clothes. You can rent clothes in the ancient town for CNY 20 per time. 2⃣ Oxygen tank: If you are traveling on your own, you can buy it in advance in the ancient town. A small tank costs CNY 10, and a large tank costs CNY 15. One tank is usually enough. 3⃣ Sunscreen: The ultraviolet rays on the snow mountain are strong, so bring a hat 🧢 and sunglasses 🕶️. 4⃣ Food: Buy a Dove chocolate 🍫 or Snickers bar in the ancient town in advance.
