The Luobu people are one of the oldest ethnic groups in Xinjiang. Their former villages were located on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert, relying on fishing in the desert lakes for a living. They do not grow grains or raise livestock. Simple and pure. But this simple and rustic life has not diminished their vitality. There are many long-lived elders in the village. The Luobu people build houses with poplar wood and carve trees to make boats. They coexist with the poplar trees and live in harmony with the desert. - Nowadays, there are not many true Luobu people left, but their culture is still being passed down here. Here, I felt a deep loneliness, a sediment accumulated over thousands of years, a tranquility that is out of sync with modern society.
