Yoshinoyama, Nara, is one of Japan's leading cherry blossom viewing spots, and has been sung about in songs and stories since ancient times.

It is said that about 30,000 cherry trees of about 200 varieties are planted on Yoshinoyama,
which is divided into four areas from the lowest altitude: Shimo Senbon, Naka Senbon, Kami Senbon, and Oku Senbon.

The cherry blossoms bloom in the following order: Shimo Senbon ⇒ Naka Senbon ⇒ Kami Senbon ⇒ Oku Senbon.

The cherry blossoms generally have a short peak season, but here you can enjoy them for about a month longer.

The expected full bloom of the cherry blossoms in 2025 is:

Oku Senbon (near Saigyo-an) April 17th

During the cherry blossom viewing season (March 22nd to May 6th, 2025), traffic restrictions will be in place

You can only hike from the bottom or travel by ropeway or local bus

Even on weekdays, the cherry blossom viewing season is extremely crowded, so you need to get there early

You will also have to walk up a hill somewhere, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes

遠くのお山はパッチワークのように桜が彩っています🌸
桜って勢いソメイヨシノにみられる薄い白に近いピンクを思い浮かべますがいろいろな種類があることを実感

大人気の吉野の桜
今年はトップシーズンに訪れることができて大満足でしたが当然大混雑
午前9時過ぎには近くまで到着しましたが、臨時駐車場に入るのにまず30分
駐車場からのバスに乗るのに30分以上
満員のバスに乗り中千本を目指すもバスも渋滞に巻き込まれ途中動かなくなることも
中千本のバス停に到着したのは11時30分を過ぎていました
時間にはゆとりを持ってお出かけが良いかもです

その後は上千本、金峯神社まで登り、お土産屋さんをみながら下千本のバス停まで歩いておりてきました
途中途中に見所があり飽きずにすごせます
特に吉水神社の一目千本
必見です
