The National Railway Museum (NRM) in York is dedicated to telling the story of British rail transport and its impact on society. The museum houses railroad and other artifacts of historical significance as well as collections of literary and pictorial records of social, technical, artistic and historical significance. The museum houses more than 100 locomotives and nearly 300 other locomotive vehicles, almost all of which ran on British railways or were built in England.
