Nanxi River, pet-friendly, here’s how you should promote it

All the following spots allow dogs, including large dogs. You can find detailed guides in the collection notes. Nanxi River area is quite large, so plan your route in advance. More wild swimming spots in Nanxi River will be discovered and shared later. 🔵 Longwantan National Forest Park 🎫 55 RMB/person Pet-friendly park with clear water suitable for swimming. Not recommended for hiking due to many steps. It takes only a few minutes from the entrance to reach the pond, and a short walk further leads to a waterfall pond, then you can return. 🔵 Wuxingtan National Forest Park 🎫 Free Abandoned park. Highly recommended. About a 10-minute walk to a large waterfall pond, with small ponds and big grassy areas along the way. There is a large water area right at the entrance for playing. 🔵 Shiwei Rock 🎫 45 RMB/person Pet-friendly. No need to enter the park; there is a large pond at the entrance for playing. Inside the park, you can experience riding the rowboat with almost no steps. 🔵 Caihong Bay 🎫 Free in off-season, 40 RMB/person in peak season About a 10-minute walk to the camp, then turn right to find a super huge pond with excellent water quality. In the off-season, you can swim directly; in peak season, you need to pay to use paddleboards (dogs allowed). 🔵 Yulin Dam, Yueqing City 🎫 Free Just navigate directly. This is a small roadside spot with shallow water, good for wading and playing. The water quality is a bit lower but it’s flowing water. 🔵 Xialinggen Village 🎫 Free Navigate directly. This place is a large roadside pond. It gets crowded during summer vacation, which may cause disputes. Either go early or avoid the summer holidays. If you can’t go here, drive a bit further for other ponds to swim in. 🔵 Dagang Village 🎫 Free Navigate directly. This is a small reservoir with a huge grassy shore. Water quality is a bit lower but you can fish, paddleboard, or roll on the grass. 🔵 Yongjia Academy 🎫 50 RMB/person Dogs allowed but there are some steps. Good for dogs that don’t swim. Inside there are bamboo rafts, waterfalls, and ponds. Personally, I don’t like going because my little one has leg issues. 🔵 Taogong Cave 🎫 Free Navigate directly. A roadside spot highly recommended for photos. Over ten thousand koi fish, very beautiful and photogenic. In the off-season, if not many people, 10 minutes here is enough. 🔵 Cliffside Coffee ☕️ Around 30 RMB/person If you’re passing by, stop for a drink and rest. It’s close to “Yongjia Academy” and “Taogong Cave.” Dogs must be leashed indoors; outdoor space is large and great for photos! Most importantly for water-loving dogs — you can go down to the water at the bottom! 🔵 Shanzao Village 🎫 Free, the glass water ceiling of Yongjia! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Most recommended here. Old fans know why — because Haier brother loves going to quiet, free wild spots to swim. Dogs that don’t swim can skip this as it requires driving halfway up the mountain.
